Mickey says keeping Romo not far fetched

It's not far fetched but it is probably not smart either.

He's the back up now and it's not like he's going to take a pay cut to stay.

So what's benefit?
1. You have the best backup in the league sure it's the most expensive but the moneys already allocated. you also have the least expensive starter. Why create a hole that you will need to fill anyway?
2. Your young qb does not have a chance to rest on his laurels with Romo here. He Played great but you don't have to bust out the anointing oils just yet.
3.You have the best possible tutor for the young qb in Romo.

I don't see how we keep Romo on the roster as things currently stand.

A. You have to open the QB job up to open competition. If you don't, other players start wondering why they have to compete for their jobs but others don't. Garrett has said many times he wants competition up and down the roster, so all of a sudden that only applies to certain players? Not going to fly, if you keep Romo then he competes with Dak in an open competition for the QB job.

B. Romo is the highest paid player on the team, making roughly 40 times what Dak makes. Not sure how you hand Romo a clipboard and tell him to go sit on the bench. As for Dak, not sure how he is going to feel looking over to the sidelines watching Romo eating nachos and playing Pokémon Go while making 40 times what Dak makes.

C. Romo currently has the highest cap charge of any player in the entire NFL at almost $25 million, so making him a backup would be unheard of. Can anybody name me one team in the history of the league that paid their backup QB $19 million in salary with a cap charge of $25 million?

This would be the most unique QB situation in the entire league and we would be doing something no other team has ever done. Can it work? I really don't see how, but I have to admit it would be fun as hell to watch!!!

Dak would be more worried at Romo still here and on the sidelines, because he knows Romo is a much better QB than him...

His cap hit can be reduced by 10m with the stroke of a pen or it could be re-done to guarantee him all 14m and lower his cap hit by half

DAL was never planning on taking a 25m cap hit even if he was the starter......it is just a number on a piece of paper that can be erased

Just made too much sense didn't it???? for old Jerry.:(

No. Mickey is a joke.
it made sense. Jerry just put an end to the circus and Tony wants to start. They both hope that Dak doesn't get hurt this year. The Cowboys are a Super Bowl contender. Hopefully, it doesn't go to waste.

Typical. Mickey is a clown and this proves it. He's a much an insider with the Cowboys as my dog is.

I wonder how Mickey feels every time he breaks his nose when Jerry stops suddenly.

Somebody needs to help Mickey wipe the egg of his face.................dam, talk about embarrassing
