I don't really care what Ditka said about Owens...I don't care that Ditka was a fool for giving up all of his draft picks for R.Williams while in Nola.

I still like Ditka and find him refreshing when he is doing the show.

I think he and Irvin balance each other some and they make for great segments that always make me laugh.

Thios only goes to prove the point that Bill has been coaching waaaay past his shelf life. Old players called to show concern because the Bill they knew that once willed them to wins by simply being himself was no longer in clear view. There's no better critic than former players that excelled in your system (years ago).

I have no argument with that. That doesn't remove my respect for him though. In fact I gained more respect for him looking into himself and realizing he was tired of the game.

They do get funny at times. Ditka is just an old school coach who likes when players respect the game.

I did too. You'll get no argument from me there.

I also enjoy what he brings to that crew. That countdown show is about the only thing I can stomach on BSPN nowadays.

His opinions and my opinion of them... totally different story.

Just saw him in NFL Countdown saying that if TO didn't drop so many passes Bill would be on his way to Miami.
Ditka you idiot,YOU picked the Saints to go all the way, remember?I do.TO could have caught 150 passes and still they would have lost thank to the defense,Bill's defense.
Ri-*****-diculous.

Not to disagree with you about Ditka, who I usually like, but I think the drop I heard him refer to on NFL Countdown was Romo's, not TO's.

They just got done playing the clip of TO's interview on JFE's show where he clarifies his comments comparing his grandmother w/ BP. The minute the clip ends, Ditka goes off on a rant about how TO is classless and shouldn't say things like that about BP, as if he didn't hear one word TO just said.

AFTER THAT, Ditka brings up Romo and the snap, and says that if he hadn't dropped it, that Dallas might be on their way to Miami. Rambles on that it falls squarely on him.

Whether I understood him correctly or not, your point is still valid. MORE valid, IMO, if he included Romo in his argument, since I don't remember him mentioning the defense at all.

You're obviously a TO fan. Actually, Dikta has a point...TO did drop too many passes. A compelling argument can be made some of those drops cost us a few wins. Oh, and the Saints were one game away from playing for it all next week. Not a bad call, considering they were 3-13 last season.
TO is an idiot. Let's hope the new coach tosses him to the curb. We don't need this team cancer.

It was about TO because they played a section of TO's radio interview with JFE just before he said it.
I want to clarify a couple of things:
1.I enjoy Ditka,I still think he's not all there, but I find him entertaining.
2.I'm not a TO apologist.I personally think he is mental, but for those who aren't keeping count,he is a rare talent.Crazy, but talented.
3.I'm not a Parcells hater.I was one excited Cowboys fan when he was brought in.
What I cannot do is sit here and look the other way when I see a coach who was given 4 years, decision making power and all I got was 4 straight december debacles, zero division championships and 0-2 playoff record and pretend everything's ok.
This year's choke job was one for the ages.

This team didn't lose because of TO.
I'll give you the Washington game. That was on TO.
They lost because Bill's 3-4(his groceries, you know) could not make a stop to save its live and his refusal to adjust.
Remember what Zimmer said about flexibility?
When the opposing team went 3 wides and Bill stayed with his standard 3-4?
Remember that?
How about the pass rush, and having your best pass rusher covering WRs???
Think about it.
Bill is not going to Miami because of Bill, not because TO dropped passes.

Three of us heard the segment, two of us understood that statement to be regarding Romo. It is conceivable that they talked about more that TO, as surprising as that may seem. Just because Ditka didn't take a breath before launching into Romo, doesn't mean he was still talking about TO.
