Was driving and Fisher was on the G-Bag Nation. He said about Murray:

"I will bet anyone, any amount, that Dallas will not negotiate that contract on Murray up. They will not pay him 5 million. They will let him walk and pay the guy behind him 500K. They have set a precedent and will stick to it."

Just repeating what he said.

If this is true then either Jerry, Stephen, or both, have lost their minds. Murray is the focus of this offense now and is on a record pace. You cannot just plug and play just anyone and expect even close to the same production. Sheer lunacy. You would think they learned their lesson when they lowballed Emmitt in '93. SMH

I preface all remarks with the name Mike Fisher, who calls himself Jerry's back-pocket boy.

Like I have said before, we need to see it before we can say that someone else can or can not. Randle and hopefully at some point maybe Ryan Williams and see how they do carrying the load.

If I had to guess, I'd say they do pretty damn good. Who knows if we will really get the chance to see it this year or not. It needs to happen to help make a decision on Murray.

Even if either could equal Murray's historical success (trying very hard not to guffaw here), neither of them is even close to being the complete back that Murray is. Murray is our best RB in pass protection and is a very good receiver out of backfield. Dunbar is just a specialist.

I think they'd rather do RBC than pay Murray big money. That takes away from things you can do elsewhere.

I would pay him 5 or 6 million a year though, if he can remain healthy throughout the year.

I agree on Dunbar. Frankly, we just don't know about Randle and while Williams isn't supposed to be great in Blitz pickup, I think he is a good back running the ball.

Really, we haven't even seen enough of the other guys to make an argument one way or the other. That's the problem with all the back and forth on this subject in all the threads we've already had. Each side talks like they know the answer to the question of how will the other backs look with a full workload behind this very good OL.

If more people would just admit that they don't have the answer to that question we could move on to things that we might know about.

Won't happen though. It is human nature.

I'd this is true. Id be happy. In the past was prone to injury and this market they won't pay much. Especially after the best rb is in trouble too for violence.

This would be a really smart move by Jerry and Co.

Which means I'll have to see it to believe it.

Probably the smart way to go, unfortunately.

Maybe Murray sees the writing on the wall and realizes that he will have a better career in Dallas behind that OL. We can hope.

He's going to want to get paid. He doesn't have many big pay days left, considering the life span of running backs. I say let him get that pay day with some other team. We can get Gurley of Georgia or the back from Wisconsin. No need to break the bank on Murray.

Yeah, probably not. Dallas would have to get damn close for him to stay, I admit.

It will be interesting to see what happens. It isn't the end of the world either way.

Just keep in mind there will be another RB likely available next year that no one would want to pay big money to, that is pretty dang talented on the field.

We know Murray's workload is going down going forward. Which likely means Randle's workload will increase accordingly. By the end of the year, we will know if the success of the running game is a function of the o-line or Murray. If Randle averages 5 yards per carry by year end, you can bet Jerry won't budge from the current offer. If Murray leaves, Randle will take over and Jerry will draft another RB in the fourth or fifth round next year.

If Randle struggles however, look for Jerry to spice up Murrays current offer

I disagree.

I know the stats. Murray isn't touched until the second level.

But go review the game if you DVR'd it and watch against the Texans how he moved the pile forward. Seldom, and I mean not often at all, this guys gets shoved back.

I remember the spares we've had that looked brilliant in pre-season and stunk on ice when the real games start. I also know the coaches sees these guys daily.

If this was just anyone can do it, you'd see the other guys a lot more often.

Only 3 men have done what Murray has done in the entire history of the NFL. I don't need to see Randle or Williams to know unequivocally that neither could produce like Murray has.

And this coming from a Ryan Williams fan too.
