Way too much hyperbole in those statements, for sure. But it is the easiest place to play QB in the NFL right now.
Well lets just trade romo and prescot, and resign weeden and cassel, much cheaper.
And we could just insert sanchez till we get those guys back.
and this is mainly directed at the swinging " statement in op

What the artitcle doesnt say is if any of these former gm's ever won anything.

But Randle, Turbin, Michael, and McFadden don't equal Murray and Zeke.

The run games looks and feels way different with an elite back in play.
Shoot add that in too and I still think this thing isn't what you may expect. There's probably a reason QBs get paid so well.

Kinda obvious when the GM guy says it doesn't matter who plays QB he was saying that as long as your two choices are Romo and Prescott.

He wasn't saying just plug some JAG in there like Weeden and watch it go.

I think this OL is probably better overall than the nineties OLines.

The interior is better across the board than the 92 and 93 teams. Nate Newton wouldn't start on this OL, IMO. Not even over Ron Leary.

Tyron would get the nod over Tuinei but not by much in my book.

The obvious weak link is Free at RT where they had a healthy Erik Williams in 92 and 93.

Larry Allen was added in 94 but he didn't start at the beginning of that season and only played a couple of games together with EW before EW had the car wreck.

In 95 they had to have been pretty good because Emmitt had 25 TDs; however, EW was never the same after the wreck. IMO 95 was not the best of the Super Bowl OLs.

The current OL will likely never have the extreme physically dominant individual player like Larry Allen or Erik Williams. Tyron, Martin and Fred might be as good overall as football players because they are great technically, but they'll likely never make the greatest DLineman of their era cry like a baby (Reggie White) or have DLinemen literally scared for their life.
You make good points, but I just got too distracted by imagining a healthy Erik Williams at RT with the rest of this line.

some of these media people might want romo back, hoping it would derail the cowboys who have won 5 in a row.
Any who are not cowboy fans, are suspect.

He's got a point, seriously, who doesn't think we would be 5-1 or better with Romo out there playing.
Forget about the future and what having Dak playing means for his experience, just for this season.
IMO we would have the same record or better, I love Dak, I love Tony but with this Oline, Zeke and how the D has looked you cannot tell me it's a downgrade to have Romo out there.
It's kind of like saying, we don't need Dez, we are winning without him, BS.
