Mike Freeman's 10-Point Stance: Cowboys Can't Go Wrong No Matter Who Is at QB

Problem was except for a couple seasons didn't have enough talent around him.

This 100% wrong
And he wasn't talented enough to elevate a lesser team anymore than to 8-8.

This is wrong...

Cowboys problem(other than 2010) has never been the talent around Romo or his inability to elevate the talent around him. Jason Garrett's inept play calling is the reason this team didn't have more success and the reason for three straight 8-8 seasons, when the Cowboys should've been 10-6 every year(2011-2013).

The biggest indictment of Jason's play calling is the fact we only made ONE playoff appearance with Demarco Murray. Unbelievable.

More than I wanted to know about the genitalia of Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel.

In Dallas? How so? Even more so than Pittsburgh where you have Leveon Bell and Antonio Brown and the rest of those receivers?
The oline is the key with the way the offense is being run.

But yeah...that is a heckuva skill group in Pittsburgh

Let's put in any of last year's turd parade and put this theory to the test. #QBtalentmatters

But Randle, Turbin, Michael, and McFadden don't equal Murray and Zeke.

The run games looks and feels way different with an elite back in play.

If it doesn't matter which QB is playing, then let's keep the QB making $500,000 and trade/retire the one making $108,000,000

We would still be terrible with Cassel. NE offense is great, Brissett(or whatever) was terrible. Give the man his due

If the one making 500k can win a game throwing the ball on the days the running game gets stuffed, I'm all for it. So far he's had one crack at it, and was erratic with 20 incompletions in a losing, dink and dunk effort.

At this point, I think it's 2.7 mill and 54 mil...but who's counting.:D

Disagree. Collins and Martin are both mean, nasty plow you into the ground lineman. Fredbeard is right behind them. I saw Leary blocking his man from his knees once. (He slipped.)

These guys don't want to lose their battle. Ever. They don't stop.

But for me, the biggest difference is, these dudes add an element of intelligence to their game.

They're smart.

That's what separates them from the herd, IMO.

Allen could hurt a defender worse. Allen was a brawler... huge and uber powerful. He was fun to watch. But play after play...Martin is probably better. He's just so incredibly good over and over again. There were times you'd see Larry Allen whiff entirely.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a player at any position play as well as Martin plays that guard spot. Martin is a tank-android from the future.

If Romo can still play close to 2014 level then i would gladly keep Dak on the bench even if its more than a year/

I think this OL is probably better overall than the nineties OLines.

The interior is better across the board than the 92 and 93 teams. Nate Newton wouldn't start on this OL, IMO. Not even over Ron Leary.

Tyron would get the nod over Tuinei but not by much in my book.

The obvious weak link is Free at RT where they had a healthy Erik Williams in 92 and 93.

Larry Allen was added in 94 but he didn't start at the beginning of that season and only played a couple of games together with EW before EW had the car wreck.

In 95 they had to have been pretty good because Emmitt had 25 TDs; however, EW was never the same after the wreck. IMO 95 was not the best of the Super Bowl OLs.

The current OL will likely never have the extreme physically dominant individual player like Larry Allen or Erik Williams. Tyron, Martin and Fred might be as good overall as football players because they are great technically, but they'll likely never make the greatest DLineman of their era cry like a baby (Reggie White) or have DLinemen literally scared for their life.

Tyron was much better than Tuinei. Clemons and LT used to eat Tui's lunch.

And i'm not sure where to gauge their offensive line I know they have injuries but their offensive line seems to open up holes for Bell and Deangelo and give Ben time.

I think they're pretty decent.
Ben does take a beating though, but he stands in there longer than most.

Among the excerpts....

One longtime AFC general manager made a point to me in the last few days that few people have considered when it comes to who should start in Dallas once Tony Romo is cleared to return.

"It doesn't matter who the Cowboys' quarterback is," he said. "That offense is set up right now so any swinging **** could run it."

Well, alright then. LOL. Then this.....

First, said the GM and a handful of other longtime front office executives with whom I spoke, the Dallas front office has built one of the NFL's best offensive lines. Not just for this season. Not only of the past few years. But of all time. We in the media don't see it that way, the general manager said, because there's no version of Nate Newton with a buoyant personality calling attention to the line.

Hyperbole much? LOL. And lastly....

Second, added this general manager and others, running back Ezekiel Elliott might end up being the best rookie runner in league history. "He's having the best season any rookie runner ever has," said the general manager. "Better than Jim Brown's or Eric Dickerson's or Barry Sanders'."

Not statistically, the GM admits. He means in terms of pure impact. He's likely not wrong.

We are so fortunate to be watching the greatest offense in mankind's history. Who knew?

If anyone thinks Dak is simply bus drive or not-so eloquently said any swinging **** then I encourage you to watch draft podcast from wednesday where Dane Brugler talks about what he has seen so far. Dane emphasize the rapid improvement of how precise Dak throws have been. Nobody anticipated that.
