Mike Jenkins

He is a player I am worried about.

Especially when ware said there are guys on this team who need more discipline and need to act like men plus check their ego at the door.

I think jenkins is one of the guys he is talking about.

If he has his head screwed on straight he has all the talent.

I also have faith in alan ball. So hopefully we already have 4 corners and I imagine another one will be brought in via the draft or the left over free agents.

He must have been talking about iEllis. He's the guy who cost the Cowboys a timeout after he wouldn't come off the field when he was told. He's the guy that didn't want to drop back in coverage after he had a pick in coverage. Ellis justs wants to rush, and he was vocal about it.

He ran to the GM/Owner and complained about his role in the defense.

Jenkins is afraid of contact.

I think he will be the starter opposite of Terence Newman, and I think he's going to be a really special player.

The talent and ability is there. Hopefully the attitude matches it. Be a shame to see just another example of a talented player going to hell because he doesn't have the right mindset.

Cason > Jenkins
Scandrick > Jenkins

Why is Jenkins going to start over Scandrick? Jenkins shouldn't even have a star on his helmet

Why you say that?

Why you say that?

He let Ward waltz into the endzone and made no attempt to even tackle him.

I wanted Cason, but I was pleased with Jenkins last year. He made some smart plays for a rookie, and is built for the position.

I like that the team is rolling some dice with younger players. I'm worried about secondary depth now, though. We must really like what we see in Ball. Wish we'd cut Pac and kept Oglesby last season; I'd feel a lot better about where we're at if we get a serious injury in training camp.

Get a grip, you say he shouldn't be on the team because of that one play as a rookie? Where do you come up with this crap?

it wasn't last year
It certainly became that way when Wade took over the playcalling. But that's neither here nor there. His defense was aggressive in San Diego and they brought Cottrell in for continuity.

then wouldn't the same apply to Rivera not running that D too? the closest he came to actually running a D was coordinating the Bear's Tampa-2
Did this make sense to you? Because it didn't make sense when you typed it out.

how can Cottrell be continuing an agressive scheme, when the one he called wasn't aggressive?

you're a ***

whatever man, Antoine Cason is the ****, Mike Jenkins sucks, despite the fact that everyone with a lick of sense rates Mike Jenkins a better corner

I'm not sure what you don't understand. He was brought in for continuity. Try googling the word if you don't know what it means.

I think you mean, "You're an ***."

Cottrell's scheme wasn't aggressive last year, where is the continuity?

I wasn't saying, "you're an gay"

Who said there was continuity? I didn't. I said he was hired for continuity.

Just like someone could hire you for your intellect and acute attention to detail. What they want and what they get might be different. ;)

I wasn't saying, "you're an gay"
Clearly since it's not censored.

so you admit that Antoine Cason wasn't playing in an aggressive man-scheme then?

Cason = zone corner

I thought I told you two to get a room if you're going to continue to fight.

I have no idea what he played last year. I didn't get to see the Chargers play that much. That has nothing to do with what I've said.

so what Cason played in college, and what the Chargers played with before last year, you needed to point out...why?

I pointed out the type of defense the Chargers played (and presumably expected to play) because they drafted him. Of course, I pointed out the defense he played in college because he excelled at it and it was almost exclusively man coverage.

I believe you are both right, to an extent.

Ted Cottrell was brought in to continue running Wade's scheme in San Diego. Cottrell has coached under Wade and was asked to do the same when Wade was booted from Buffalo. However, the results were exactly the same, disastrous. Just as Stewart showed us, the playcalling determines the aggressiveness/success of any scheme.

It was exactly the same way when Campo was promoted to DC, then HC. His D scheme was the continuation of Jimmy's, there was just a difference in playcalling/philosophy. Campo talks tough, but it is all bark. Haley had no respect for his playcalling, or his coaching.

The dude was fired. I can only assume he was fired because he wasn't doing what they wanted him to do, which was continue the aggressive defense that Wade brought.

ok, and despite what he played in college, he was being looked at as a zone-corner

don't you twist facts enough as a lawyer, or do you just do it on here to hone your skills?
