McCarthy wasn’t even informed of the trade until after it happened. He’s just saying all the right things to make it sound like he was on board.
McCarthy's been looking for a developmental qb for three years. They liked Lance in the draft just a couple of years ago. They also knew the 49ers were shopping him this season. He wasn't told at the time of the trade because trades don't happen if GMs/player personnel guys have to get a committee together to okay things.

Everyone knew Lance was being shopped. We discussed it here. Jerry very easily could have gotten McCarthy‘s opinion in the event San Francisco called or the Cowboys decided to make a call. Jerry was making this trade whether McCarthy liked it or not.

I do understand why he didn’t tell Dak though.

Dak would have told Tad
Tad would have immediately spilled it on social media
The deal would have been killed

MM could have been consulted but why bother? Too low level of a move

Teams know what’s going on around the league before the fans do. There was speculation for a while that San Francisco may trade Lance. There was plenty of time for Jerry to meet with McCarthy about it but that’s not how he operates when it comes to personnel. This is why certain coaches would never coach the Cowboys. No way would Sean Payton be part of a team where the owner makes a trade for a QB and he’s not even told about it until after the fact.

This coming from a coach who wasn’t even informed about the trade. McCarthy saying all the right things to please the owner. Lol
See my post above. Clarence is a hack.

This has been debunked by McCarthy himself.

MM had an entire off season of working with Dak. Not surprised to see this really. Kind of got the vibe that MM had soured on Dak the moment they started with those dumb Tex-coast offense crap.
Yeah, Mike McCarthy soured on Dak to the point he allowed Dak to call plays from the sideline for the whole 3rd preseason game against the Raiders last week. A game where the Offense scored 31 points, by far the most points scored this preseason.

SMH. Just be quiet. You're making yourself look foolish.

I disagree, we had no threat on the outside with our receivers, cd couldnt do it all, gallup couldnt run routes and was still thinking about his knee noah brown wasnt threating any one and kellen moore was the big reason dak couldnt get into a rhythm with his scheme with thoses stupid option routes and curl routes.. Zeke couldnt get the running gaming going pollard got hurt so dak wasnt at fault he was set up to fail and had to over think and force throws.. Nothing was ever gonna click on offense against the 49ers in that game on the road it was so evident to see.. Pollard wasnt even used in the running game early and also kellen kept dailing up stupid *** pass plays when cd was the only option.. So no wonder it was hard to threat the 49ers defense to score because of all of thoses circumstances that occurred but o it was Dak’s fault in the end we lost and thats str8 bull****
:hammer: :hammer:

The Dak haters know this, but they love acting ignorant. Trolling is what they do best because they are so full of hate inside their uneducated vessels.

Yall really reading too much into that. The Jones don't make that trade without McCarthys evaluation.

I don’t know what McCarthy said, but Jerry said they didn’t tell anyone about the trade, including McCarthy until after it was made.

I would suggest that you check McCarthys actual response.

He, and the other people involved in talent aquisition were involved. Provided feedback. He said it, definitively.

Jerry did, in fact, make the call on the actual negotiations on compensation on the trade, but that’s *routine*. It’s the way the league works.

Coaches don’t deal with the specifics of whether it’s a fifth or a third or whatever. That’s what the GM is supposed to do.
