Further proof of why the 2nd round pick was Schoon.

What did the Cowboy brass say after the draft? They wanted to improve the blocking.

He should help in the run game, but McCarthy is talking about the passing game. Unless you think he's going to not run routes as much and be the 6th OL on passing plays.

This is MMs way of not answering the question lol. He knows damn well that wasn’t the question that was asked. But it served the purpose of telling us nothing.

Yep. Throw anyone under the bus provided it isn't Prescott
So, 1. Answering the question is throwing someone under the bus?
2. Changes in the blocking schemes in the passing game is double talk for we need a better QB?

We've even heard respected players like Martin saying the new OL coach is a breath of fresh air, that there’s more energy and the schemes have everyone on the same page now, but none of that matters to many of you guys? We’ve seen quotes from players that McCarthy is more hands on with the coaching and there’s more attention to details, like being where you’re supposed to be when you’re supposed to be there….means nothing.

You can go all the way back to a past training camp when receivers were talking about learning various releases from Cooper, followed by Cooper emphasizing that the key is varying his releases and speeds to emphasize being where he’s supposed to be when he’s supposed to be there. Goodbye Cooper.

It’s not that the very young and inexperienced Moore wasn’t smart. But he was inexperienced, and it’s been noted by film breakdowns that there was a lack of attention to details and synchronizing routes across the field. Receivers were expected to see what the QB saw and make adjustments on the fly without that detailed coaching it would seem. Cooper, Hilton, Cooks….every time we bring in a veteran receiver, the other guys talk about how much they are learning from them. Doesn’t that say something about the coaches they’ve had previously?

On another note, when Mike says he wants to “run the damn ball,” he doesn’t mean run it more times necessarily. We were actually one of the more balanced offenses. 1. He wants to run it more effectively with better blocking. 2. He wants to run it instead of passing on 3rd and long inside our own 20. He wants to run it more in obvious passing situations when we have a lead. I want the QB to throw the ball away more often when the play isn’t there, but that’s not going to happen when the OC never met a down and distance when he didn’t want to throw it. Game situations matter!

Maybe Mike, like me, has seen enough crazy reverses and option plays on the 3 yard line.

After praising Dak and the camp/trip at Dak’s place this summer, and talking about the things they talked about and how much it has helped him, Tolbert also talked about the difference having Mike take over the offense.

”Tolbert talked about the night on the trip that they all talked about their “whys” and who they are doing this for to help them connect and understand each other. Tolbert said that he has learned a lot since Mike McCarthy took over the playbook, saying that his biggest takeaway so far is seeing how some plays can be similar but schemed differently.

“Having those plays and the variety of them is cool to be able to go out and just be able to see the difference from last year to this year,” said Tolbert.”

But how can Solari teach the Green Bay pass block holding techniques? I thought that was Philbin?

Before now our pass blocking was basically Elliott. It wasn't a good situation. With better blocking TEs and some speed on the outside Plus having the backs much more active in the passing game it should be tough to blitz or send an extra guy.

Big Mike has called a Super Bowl. No excuse not to come up with some creative plays that make the best use of each individual player's strengths, and avoid their weaknesses. But first he's got to put the right guys in the right spots on each play. One would think he knows how to do that. Given more responsibility, I'm giving Mike the benefit of the doubt and saying he'll rise to the occasion and kick some butts on the opposing defence with his offence. I like it when the HC calls the plays.

With an elite defense and the All Pro players on offense (obviously excluding the QB) and young talent playing in a weak conference - Mike should be calling a Superbowl.

What Mike wants to say?
Jerry grossly overpaid this QB and we're stuck with him.
My prediction?
Before the trade deadline we'll swap for a adequate QB

Black listed. Additionally, the Cowboys didn't like him. He didn't fit their scheme.

So no he shouldn't have been drafted. For many reasons.
He was first round talent that fell to us gift wrapped. For the Cowboys to pass up on him was pure stupidity. He has more pro bowl potential than Schoonmaker.
Passing up better talent for scheme fit gets you Taco Charlton over T.J.Watt.

I believe we are going to see less 5 step drop passes, more 3 steps and fire. This will give less time for the OL to protect, but also make it easier for Dak in his reads.
That's a good plan until the CBs are playing 10-13 yds off and challenging your QB throw in front of them . You see DCs have figured out Dak will (50% of the time) either hold the ball, throw high, or throw late.
