My friend... give a chance and a care.
All I ask is have a light heart this offseason. Why not? Stress is a killer.

Then let's watch TC, pre-season and go from there, yes?

You should take a look at Nolan's coaching history. Pro Foot Ref has a link.

It's disturbing...at the least.

Marinelli, whom I despise as a coach, is better than Nolan.

You mean nothing to me.
I asked you twice to tell me details and you ignored them.
You stink, as far as I'm concerned.

Take a look at the tape on the 49ers game and get back to me. I like stats. But that's not all there is to it.
lol wut

you said they create a lot of sacks. they're 21st in sacks. what does tape from one game have to do with it?

sounds to me like yall are just making up reasons to hype up this hire.

People are just making stuff up.

one poster said he'll make the linebackers accountable finally

like dude the main thing Marinelli is known for is making people accountable. where did you get the idea Nolan will make them more acountable?

Oh God. Seriously? It's about making the plays against elite opponents that you need to make in the moment to win.

Did you watch the damn game like I told you?

Am I correct in assuming you like nothing about these recent changes to the coaching staff?

What I like about this is it's a complete McCarthy hiring. Say what you will about Marvin Lewis vs. Nolan vs. Marinelli or Richard -- Nolan is McCarthy's boy and vice versa. I'm sure this was already cleared and talked about.

I hope there are more moves in the making. I don't think he has to fire everyone to prove its his team. Even Parcells stuck with some of the previous coaches and chewed the media out when they said he was just playing lip service to Jerry.

I think McCarthy is a slightly upgraded JG. I am not vowed by resume. I am vowed by actions. And McCarthy's actions mirror a lot of what JG did during his tenure here. At this point my only prayer with him is that all the talk about him embracing analytics is actually true and not just lip service to get hired.

I am totally dumbfounded why they felt the need to pounce on McCarthy before at least interviewing some more innovative minds like Greg Roman, Lincoln Riley, Urban Meyer, etc. If they hired him after interviewing those guys, I would feel at least a little better. Right now, it looks to me like a hire that Jerry can control.

As for Mike Nolan, he's the definition of a JAG. He's McCarthy's buddy. Nothing about him says he has a high ceiling as a coach.

I get that JG and Rod kinda sucked so we're all excited for change but I think we should be questioning these moves.

this is amazing. you are extrapolating what the ravens did to the 49ers in one game to how a guy that wasn't involved in that game is a good hire for the Cowboys?

wut

the mental gymnastics here are strong

this is hilarious. are you telling me you are basing your opinions off one game?
One game that could be a preview of the upcoming SB. It was billed that way and played that way.

You know brother. Stats are great. But you know what is greater? Results against elite opponents on the field of play.

The Cowboys stats are great on offense. Best in the NFC if not the NFL. Yet they are 8-8 and no playoffs.

Take those garbage time stats and shove them up your ***.

Just looking at wins losses based on the teams he coached is lazy. Go look at who the qbs were on those teams and injuries etc. Marinelli is an 0-16 football coach he aint worse than that

He's not looking at wins and losses. He is looking at the defenses Nolan oversaw. Pretty underwhelming. We hired Nolan to be our defensive coordinator, not head coach.

Yeh go look at the teams he was hired to. Those teams had zero talent on the defensive side of the ball. Still probably had better efficiency than the defense this year. Which finished 21st and one of the worst again in takeaways

I don't mind MM bringing in 'his' guy.. if it means that our coaches will all actually be working to the same plan its an upgrade.

I like the thought of more takeaways.. i like the thought of more blitzes.. in fact I like anything that isn't based around bend and don't break.. until you do break and then it looks horrible.
