General observation... insults ("retread" or "neophyte" or otherwise)... aren't all that persuasive. Every season, proven coaches succeed. And don't. Every season, newbie coaches succeed. And don't. It's fine to just state an opinion. It's better to state an opinion, and then offer something more than insult... something like substance... whether stats like team rank, or observations of well-regarded football people, or whatever.

That's all. As you were.

"A person with knowledge of his thinking?"

Is that person like the posters here who know what refs are thinking as they penalize us in an attempt to resolve the childhood trauma of the Cowboys beating their favorite teams back then?

BTW, for a little sanity, Zimmer's exit from Dallas was cheered around here as he was all bend but don't break. Fans hated him.
Quinn's defenses against good teams this season was break a little before breaking completely, so I'm willing to go back to Zimmer for now.

I am a card carrying member!!!

We ran The Village Idiot out of town once already. I don't want him anywhere near the Cowboys.

I'm inclined to think their sources are be different, but fwiw, Broaddus seemed confident during the radio conversation w/ Jane that this is the case. Slater recalled how Zimmer was very public about his disdain for GB letting McCarthy go back-when. And both spoke to the Joneses' familiarity with Zimmer as being reason to suspect it could happen.

Most guys like Zimmer are interested because MM is in his last year of his contract, meaning if he fails interim HC job or HC job the year after.

@Rockport thinks Quinn had to go because he said he had a bend but don't break defense, yet he thinks Zimmer would be a solid hire?

I think we can do a bit better than Zimmer. Rivera and Zimmer are pretty much the same. I think if Jerry is gonna roll the dice and throw us a curve, I think it will be a young guy like Staley. Staley is from the Shanahan tree and understands how to play a certain way against them. As a HC hes trash but as a DC he's exactly what we need. I want Vrabel but Its apparent its not happening.

But you wanted Quinn to be the Head Coach last year.

Do you see the inconsistency?
I do. The defense regressed from 2021-22 level and I don't think any of us saw it coming.

All I see now is the 49ers scoring 42 points, the Bills rushing for 266 yards, and Packers tight ends running downfield 40 yards uncovered.

For where this team is headed, Zimmer is the perfect hire.

Jerry’s buddy. He can take over HC next year and play the Campo role while Jerry runs thins thing back to 2001.

That’s where this is headed…and quickly,
