Crayton is better as a slot guy, he doesnt have the speed to really play the sideline.

My guess is Williams and Austin on the outside and Crayton in the slot.

I highly doubt we sign any more free agents.

thank you, a guy with sense

I won't ban for no reason though. Silly me, I thought a thread titled Miles Austin might actually be about...I don't know...Miles Austin.

How could I be so silly? And I should have even opened it.

Damn, we're doomed.

Anyways Austin is better than Crayton......Crayton sucks as number 2, not a sideline WR, Enough said, only Homers think we will be Good to go, with this guy, starting

In all due respect, you're crazy if you think a thread titled "Miles Austin?" is actually anything but a "we're doomed without a certain somebody" thread.

Anyway, on subject. I'd like to see Austin step up to the number 2 spot so Crayton can play the slot, because that's just what he's better at. However I wouldn't slit my wrist if he was playing the #2 spot on day one of the season. It's up to Austin though, if he shows he can be #2 in Camp, then he'll be the number 2.

Side note: I wouldn't count Hurd out yet, I think he might come in and challenge Crayton for that #2 spot as well. If Stanback can stay healthy I'm hoping he can be the one who steps up, I really want to see him succeed, but it looks like that may be a pipe dream.

Yeah I don't see that happening. Bennett isn't fast enough to play WR in the NFL, he's a true TE. I believe Miles Austin will step up into the role of number 2 and perform well.

he ran a 4.68 40 which is not far from what Larry Fitzgerald ran.

But the obvious difference would be quickness, feeling comfortable out of a WR stance as opposed to TE stance, agility etc.

I could See lots of formations Bennett could be a slot in a trips package. Witten,Bennet,Williams with Austin opposite ( in red zone) would be a potent formation.

Show a little respect to the board mods, TN700. You're embarrassing yourself.

And can we stop pretending it's ok for posters to butt-hurt-whine all they like and poop in every dang thread on the board but that it's not ok for those of us who can't stand wading through the nonsense to mock it? The easiest way to avoid ridicule for your hysterical ramblings is to not read the ridicule. It works both ways.

Crayton produced when he was asked to. I don't think he's a bad #2. On this team, he's really not a #2. Witten will be before him, and, this is pure speculation, but I think Bennett will play a bigger role.

Here's a prediction: the Boys will move Bennett to WR because he has the speed and talent to play the position. We draft a TE to help out on the line. Just a thought.

Not likely, he's not a true WR.
He's built like a TE and runs like one.
Besides, this offense needs speed, we already have RW for possession.

Yeah, that's a possibility. Full time WR isn't though.
I think he'll see the slot from time to time.
I also think that once Austin beats Crayton for the job, we'll be running a lot more 2 TE sets.

I bet Austin's in the #2 by the time TC opens. Love Crayton, but the best WR arrangement is RW and MA in 1 and 2 with Crayton in the slot.

Agree.

I don't want to see Crayton on the wing. He's much more dangerous in the slot. Austin does have potential but he's still unproven. If we aren't going to make another move at WR I would be much more comfortable with Austin opposite RW11. Color me cautiously hopeful...

Remember, just a few years ago there was an unproven guy that got his chance names Tony Romo. It wasn't just handed to him though. He had to fight for it and be patient while bleedslow proved his lack of ability to contribute early on. I would still like to see another vet brought in to push Austin but ultimately I'm happier with an Austin in the #2 slot.

If we get our slew of running backs to be the showcase of our offense and they produce, our passing game, overall offense and our defense will be fine.

This team needs to figure out how to play as a team, quit running their mouths and start showing up for every play for 4 quarters.

We have plenty of talent, the coaches need to figure out how to get the best out of this bunch and we'll be in the running every week. Do that and I'll be a happy camper. I just dont want to see this team ever lay down again like they did last year against St Louis, NY Giants & the Eagles, that was almost unforgivable.
