Miles Austin?

This team has more than enough offensive firepower to be a very productive offense. If deployed CREATIVELY and correctly, what we have on the roster on offense is more than enough.

The one thing we could add is better depth at WR behind our top 3. If we suffer an injury or if we ever go 4 WRs, I dont think our 4th WR(Hurd/Stanback) can consistently win the individual battle vs the opposing FS or 4th CB. This is where I'd like to see us add a WR in the draft with some speed/quickness - a legit WR, not some QB turned WR who has to learn the WR position.

Crayton and Austin, both are jokes. I'll save judgement with Roy, but he'll be on a short leash as well.

Bottom line, our receiving core sucks as it stands right now. I hope Garrett, Witten and Romo will have enough to take us to the promise land. Doubt it though.

I think Austin can be a great #2. he showed signs of it last year. My only gripe is that there is a real possibility that Williams and Austin could both be out at the same time with injuries. Austin's injury may be the kind that lingers and Roy has only played one full season out of the six he has been in the NFL... So if Williams and Austin are out, a real possibility, we would then have to rely on Crayton, Hurd, and Stanback.

Luckily we have the best TE in the league and a RB trio that is ready to lead the NFL in combined rushing yards.

Im sure Austin will be the #2 reciever, but i remember last year that Jerry was working with Sam Hurd to get him as the #2 reciver over Crayton(pre-Roy era). So Crayton, Hur, or Austin can be the #2 reciever, but i doubt it will be Hurd.

As slow as Hurd is, I probably have more faith in him than any of the others.

Most teams have receivers like Miles Austin - guys who have physical talent but haven't put it all together. Sometimes they pan out and become legitimate NFL starters, most of the time they don't.

If Miles, Hurd, and Stanback didn't play for this team, most people on this board wouldn't even know who they were.

Of the three, I like Austin's upside the most, the odds are real long against him or any of those guys being a real threat in the NFL. Anyone who says otherwise is whistling in the graveyard.

no way Boldin makes it here in Dallas... my hunch is he resigns with AZ

Crayton as a #2 wasn't too bad in 2007 save the infamous drop and the hiccup route... we're not doomed in any capacity

I wouldn't mind it if Holt came on board and helped out

Crayton's success was due to the double teams on T.O. Let's see Crayton handle tough coverage.

Hurd is slower than molasses. I think it was in the preseason where he caught a wide open pass and he had a clear path the the end zone he was caught from behind pretty easily. I know speed isn't everything, but we need someone that can get seperation to fill the #2 spot. Right now, that guy is Austin.

Teams are still going to have to contend with Roy Williams and Jason Witten 1st. Crayton, Austin, Bennett and the RB's underneath will still have alot of easy chances.

I know its hard to believe for some, but TO really wasnt the only good player on this team.

I don't think Roy can get it done personally. He had a super star caliber WR in Detroit and here in Dallas.

And even if he could get it done, I don't think we have the right QB to get it done. If Felix doesn't just blow up next year, we will be an embarrassment again.

ok because hes a mod on the net, its ok for him to show lack of respect but for me not too.....you make no sense

its ok though...i see what you are doing...you will be Mod soon enough

I'll never be a mod on this board for the same reason you should be showing more respect to Hos: I wouldn't want to put in the time, and I don't have the patience required to police the board and keep this a good place to visit. It's a lot of work, and you should appreciate it more than you do.

That, and it's too tempting for me to violate board rules when I see an otherwise cool poster acting like a big, wet, flapping dooshbag.

Crayton produced when he was asked to. I don't think he's a bad #2. On this team, he's really not a #2. Witten will be before him, and, this is pure speculation, but I think Bennett will play a bigger role.

Here's a prediction: the Boys will move Bennett to WR because he has the speed and talent to play the position. We draft a TE to help out on the line. Just a thought.
A 6-6 265 WR???

So who would be the "right QB" in your eyes???

yea it looks like its a lot of work.....this place is far from family oriented

all i did was make a thread, peacefully, yea i may have exaggerated with the "we are doomed" but you get the idea, i just don't want Crayton as number 2, unless we have someone who can take more then half the D's attention

i mean if you are hurt by my post, then click out, don't try and turn this into a flame war, by acting sarcastic, and just being a jerk, like if you don't feel the thread, just click back, your a grown man, act like it

i see a ton on threads on here i dis like, i dont run up in there for the heck of it, and say "omg TO again?" i don't even click, if i did, i would be interested, and i would add more to a thread instead of "im sick of the doomed posters"......ok im sick of your stupid predictions, but you wont see me up in his or hers thread, acting like a baby...

but whatever

will he start?

if we don't get torry holt or boldin, or just another big WR

he has to start.....if we have Crayton starting...we are doomed, Jerry must have a plan....and i guess he trusts Austin

perfect combo...1 is a young burner, who has showed flashes of making big plays, the other is a faster than normal possession guy, who makes crazy catches, and can out jump the best CB's

Can we trust Austin?
