I feel like this kid will be our future #1 WR.
There isnt much to his game i don't like from what i have seen.
Speed, Hands, Toughness.

I haven't seen him running that many routes so im not so sure how he is there, but Parcells said he has tremendous potential as a WR.

We are fine at WR IMO.

Owens 2 more years on his contract
Glenn should be here untill he retires
Crayton great #3 and is still pretty young
Austin
Hurd

we are fine

How can you judge his hands? by kickoffs?

Unless you go to practices how do you know about his hands?

Every scouting report on him says he has great hands. they dont just stop catching balls after college

scouting reports are ok to an extent, but they are on a "college level". you have to wait and see if they can do it at an NFL level. scouting reports also claimed jacob rogers as the most polished LT in the draft that year.

Having said that, I am in NO WAY trying to bash Miles Austin. I think his physical attributes are on par with some of the best, I just want to see some things for myself.

You guys are dreaming....Crayton, Hurd, and Miles are what they are, Special teamers who will probably compete with each other for the position of #3 receiver.

Crayton is not #1 material...I think that's been made clear over the past couple of years. The #3 receiver, if he's very talented, should be open on just about every play.

Rector isn't a fresh new guy...he's been here and couldn't even dress this year...maybe he'll eventually be a punt returner and at best, a #3 when we need him.

Miles Austin has not played at WR either, but you project him as a #1 or #2 starter???

The only guy I hope may have the ability to be at least a #2 guy is Hurd, but that's only a hope....We are NOT okay or fine at WR...we are aging with no one pushing for playing time...unless you think these guys are legit players that we just got lucky on and Parcells is holding them back.

I think only a Cowboy fan would believe that Miles would make a #1 WR some day.

Ask anyone else in the NFL, and you'll be lucky to get a chuckle.

A #1 WR?

No way, no shape, no how.

I like the kid a lot, but that is just way off the mark.

Perhaps it's because he's not on any other team. Fans of other teams are just as delusional about their players Eddie. You seem to overlook that at times. For someone with a good logical side, that's a bad move.

I like all our young WR,, Crayton, could very well become a legit #2 WR, in the mold of a Key. As far as Hurd and Austin, I don't see how anyone can say either way about becoming or not becoming a #1 at some point. Unless you saw different games than I did last year, which I only saw them play in one game with any playing time.

Of course, some will say because they weren't drafted in the 1st round, they don't have a chance, much like some say about Romo. I wonder if they say the same thing about Colsten or however you spell his name with the saints.. he was almost the last player drafted, and I think he could become a #1, heck, he might already be with Horn out much of the year.

Both Hurd and Austin seem to have good hands, Austin has tremendous speed, and a great burst, as we have seen on KR. He is big and tough.. so i don't see any reason he can't become a #1 in a couple of years, when TO and Glenn walk away.

I don't think we are in a bad situation at WR right now, not at all. We have more pressing needs that we need to concentrate on this year. AT this point, I think taking a WR early would be a luxury and not a neccisity,, which we can't afford that right now.

For every Colston, there are 1000 undrafted guys blowing through like the wind (or a f*rt).

Colstons come once a generation.

Austin Miles is a dime a dozen.

One year with Colston and he is god. So predictable.... Julius Jones was tearing it up his rookie year. Now look how everyone thinks of him.. Bunch of sheep.

He might end up being a good receiver, I doubt he ever gets to real solid #1 status, just because the odds are against that, but the notion that that kind of player succeeding is once in a generation is just wrong. Just this year we have Colston and Furrey and Driver getting after the league, all 7th rounders or undrafted. Houshmanzadeh is one of the league's premier receivers, and he was a 7th rounder. Then, there's the litany of 3rd and 4th rounders doing well, like TO, Smith, Lav. Coles, etc.

It can happen, it's just not likely. The same thing can be said about any position, though. If you've got the right physical attributes, and the right dedication, you can go far. Austin might have that, Parcells certainly seems to like him in a Tony Romo sort of way.

The point I was making, was you don't have any evidence that Hurd or Austin can't become a number 1,, just like I don't have any evidence that they CAN become a #1. I used Colston as an example that just because you are not a high pick in the draft, does not mean you don't have skills that can develop. Much of it is on the player themselves, if they want to do what is required to devleop those skills, i don't see any reason they can't progress to top notch WR in this league.. they have speed and hands, which is what is essential for a WR, the rest, the intanglables, the heart, the desire, the fire.. that is what seperates WR. Jerry Rice was not any more gifted than most WR, he just worked his tail off to be the best.

I don't know how after 1 year, how anyone can make any comment about what their future will bring.
