We both know they will go the safe route but I am intrigued by some of the scenarios that you and other posters have brought up. It makes the draft more interesting. The only route I would have an issue with is if we draft Waddle/Smith but even the trade down with Chicago has me excited for the possibility.
Yes, and this raises a concern about the upcoming draft. You can't get so focused on picking an immediate solution that you forget the aim of finding a player who can help for 5-plus years. That's when you start to excuse shortfalls in traits and focus too much on polish. It is a fine line.

I think you could see them trying to move back into the first for Collins if they stay at 10 as well
Their track record of drafting defensive players has been awful, no matter the position. Why is that? Couple things, love small schooled prospects, take gambles with injury prone players, give too much weight to athletic, testing scores. To be fair, Quinn is a former DL Coach and did find a gem at the position with Grady in Atlanta.
I agree, if they trade back think Collins would be their #1 target, wouldn't rule out Davis if he's gone. Helmen mentioned recently on the draft show, word is they were looking at linebackers higher then he would like.
Sure up the run defense this yr and see if one of the prospects is able to take the next step.
Think both Wilson/Togiai fit what you described. Haven't heard much of anything in regards of the Cowboys showing interest in traditional 3-4 NT's like Shelvin.

In my opinion It will be between 4 guys Sewell, Surtain, Darrisaw and Horne.Two of those guys should be there at 10. The Cowboys will probably lean towards defense but the Joneses can be talked into taking an offensive tackle.
Since teams are in the nickel most of the time, you need interior pass rushers, basically two 3T's. I like a few inside/outside prospects, but want to add a legitimate 1T, if they can also give us some rush, big bonus.
They've actually been pretty well known for avoiding small school guys since McClay has been on board. Hill and Woods are the only two that come to mind. And Woods was a 6th rounder
I don't disagree with the names, but I'm hoping they are throwing out misinformation about Slater. Outside of Pitts, I like him the most, even over Sewell. Not buying Slater cannot play Tackle, when Sewell has the same arm length and is less athletic.
That Reggie Robinson pick isn't looking good after 1 season.
