My bad, here's Ray Sherman

This is THE GUY to turn Miles Austin into a good reciever; If Sherman can't do it.... Honestly nobody can. I think he is probably one of the best aquisitions of this entire offseason including draft, FA, and other coaching positions. People this guy is good.

Thank you tunaboyz for pimpin' him.

Stanbeck is huge for a QB, if the guy can learn how to throw short passes better then he could be very effective based on his speed and arm strength.

If he can learn to be a reciever along with M. Austin, we will basically have two TO's on our team physically (at Least Stanback, he wasn't brought up as a wideout persay, so he will be more physical than Austin IMO) These guys are so amazing physically it is not even funny.

God one of the CB's in those pics looks REALLY skinny; I wouldn't let him see the field... I mean GAWD, look at him he is skinnier than Watkins.

I agree on the Austin and Stanbeck assessment. It could really be sick of these two turn out...

I'm hearing you on this. Ray is the best aquisition in my opinion due to how young our receivers are. I know GB is in the conference but I've always loved the way Ray has turned young guys into dominent receivers. GB loss is our gain!!!!!:laugh2:

I like the look of Stanbeck from the outside..........he appears to have size, strength and speed which are all great assets but what I don't know is how well does he catch?. if the guy can catch the ball on a consistent basis then he could be a very effective slot player to begin with.

Agreed; usually teams think they can do as well after a few years of a good coordinator; the problem is coordinators tailor their game to the league as it changes. Sean Payton was allowed to leave because of this. (big mistake) Sherman should have never been allowed to leave GB or Tennesse.

Ray also can work with sub-par recievers: In Tennesse last year as a WR's coach, he had 4-5 ROOKIE recievers catch at least twenty passes each. That is impressive. If he can do that with those guys, he can at least get more production out of our projects this year.

From what I've read, Washington wanted him to play receiver in college but he balked and then injury forced them to you use him as QB his last season. I'm thinking he catches pretty well and the Boyz are just brushing him up on catching punts since he hasn't done it in a while....

Let's not get too carried away here.

It would be great if one of the Stanback, Hurd, and Austin trio would become a legitimate starter.

It would be amazing if one of them became a starter and another became a reliable #3.

It would be unbelievable if all three panned out....

Stanback is going to be a pain in butt to bring down. He could take it all the way just by breaking a few would-be tacklers....he has that speed. I definitely wouldn't want to see what's good with him at the club.

that's what I'm hoping, I don't expect him to be the next T.O. or anything like that but I am hopefull that he can become a great slot receiver for us......I like power receivers the best and he certainly has the physical attributes to be a really good power receiver.

Look, I am not saying ANY of them are going to pan out. All I am saying is that Sherman has the best ability to turn these guys into POSSIBLE 3rd widout status/ability if.

I would love them to work out but I am being realistic.

All I know is that Sherman is really going to give them something to work with. He was a large reason to Donal Drivers' development from a 7th round pick into a pro bowler.

Unbelievable is possible with Ray Sherman as their coach and Jason planning to spread this thing around. Think about it, Patrick is signed for one more year. If either of these guys look like a future TO or better Patrick is gone fo sho. Miles is big enough to be the next TO, Hurd is on his way and has shown flashes and Stanbeck? I admit is a project but lord have mercy, the potential is crazy....That's 3 very young receivers on a very young team. Let's face it, TO and Glenn are crazy athletics but they both are pass 30 and at some point, you gonna have to look forward.

No way Crayton leaves after this season. He is pretty much our only vet reciever after Glenn and T.O., who will both be gone unless Glenn can restrucure his contract and that isn't even in the realm of reasonable possibilty unless we go deep in the playoffs and we can get Glenn to consider doing it to get a ring. NO way Crayton leaves; thats crazy. This team has all the pieces it needs; I am not saying we are SB bound but I am saying we are ready for a run, and it would be silly to have a bunch of developmental recievers on a team stacked with vetaran leadership and talent.

I agree but like I said if either of these youngsters make the progression Jerry is obviously predicting by not signing Crayton to a longer contract, he's out!

Thanks for the pics!

Random observations:

My Gawd, Leonard Davis is huge. And not fat. Little-known fact: That Gatorade bottle in his hand is the 64oz size. :D

Terry has a little protective band on his knee already. I hope that knee condition doesn't act up on him this year.

Wade looks like he can play backup NT in a pinch.

In the pic of the second-team line getting the play, it looks like James Marten has some HUGE lower legs -- always good for O-linemen.

Just at first glance, Hatcher looks bigger and stronger.

Love the pic of Doug Free blocking someone even long after the pass has been thrown way downfield probably 50 yards away. (Note everyone on the sideline looking that way.) Don't you love these "non-contact" OTAs?

Gotta love practicing outdoors on real live grass.

Umm... The gushing at T.O.'s body around here is a little weird...

They just take a little pressure off the connective tissue in the joint. Have you ever seen those bands you put around your forearm near the elbow to help tennis elbow? It makes it feel better if you have tendonitis.

(Not that I'm pretending to be Eskimo or anything. :D)

I'm not saying it's anything to be alarmed about. It's just that we know Terry had a problem with his knee last year.

Yeah, it is a little bothersome that he is wearing it so soon...but hey, he has been playing in the NFL for over a decade so I would understand that things aren't always going to feel their best.

Thanks for the info lab.
