My unit is in the field all the dang time. Our discipline is fine.

And its not about whether or not the discipline has "gone down hill". Those soldiers are my family (the high speed soldiers and dirt bags alike) and I don't appreciate people from outside my family talking about my family.

I have seen it first hand for years. Spent 7 years at Ft Drum and watched it there. We have a Engineer battalion where I am at now and its being disbanded. And it was never very good. As I said I have seen this gradually happen over the last 20 years.

Sure there's some soldiers that aren't up to par, same as with every other type of "Team" atmosphere (business, sports, etc...) on the planet. And, as is usually the case, people only notice the bad, while ignoring the good.

Still, even those "Bad" soldiers are my family.

A real brother, not some a "brother" who I never met. I am a lawyer yet I have to listen to people rip my profession all the time. I never say stop attacking my profession.

I didn't know a team of lawyers consisted of thousands.

I didn't know lawyers die for their country. I didn't know lawyers consistently get sent overseas, away from their "other" families, for a year at a time while risking their lives.


Yeah, the criticism of a lawyer and a soldier, they're on the same level.
