Mistake not getting Derrick Henry

I disagree. We don't run a offense system to accommodate his skills. Though having him in the backfield. would have changed how defense played dallas.
Ravens made adjustments in their offense against the Bills......I formation, which is Henry's bread & butter. Was Emmitt's too, back in the day. Jerry & Coordinators and Draft Room have been stuck in mud for some time analyzing "weaknesses" on this team. Many will blame Zeke about this......he is not the problem, nor a Rico Dowdle. Many will blame Dak, and now Cee Dee about salary. Jerry has been a deal maker for YEARS, he is slipping now.

The Franchise is considered a "Lamborghini", in terms of worth/value. You can't keep going to maintenance departments at the Volkswagen (no offense) lot for oil changes. Jerry didn't even make a phone call to Derrick Henry.....that is the egregious mistake in all this regarding DFW citizen, Henry. C'mon Man!

So far in the season its looking like a very Big Mistake our GM did not go after Derrick Henry!:mad: :banghead: Should have paid more than the Ravens and got him here in my opinion. Be interesting if he keeps balling the whole season!
You are spot on. Fans saw this as an easy one. Jerry did what he does…stupid. The Dallas FO is so arrogant they don’t know what they don’t know.

Maybe it was a question of not wanting to allocate more salary cap to the offense. They were seemingly always planning to sign Prescott to $60 million a year. CD is also earning a boatload of money. They could have worked the cap and of course they should have signed him but given the above perhaps they are thinking about giving more resources to the D going forwards.

Just my take ........Jerry can hide it or play it down all he wants but this goes near the top as one of his biggest mistakes regarding acquiring talent/players and I am sure he knows it. Gross negligence ..........

Water is wet. Jerry and Co completely dropped the ball the entire offseason from draft to FA to the extensions. We’re currently reaping the benefits by scrapping by the lowly Giants

Nah....there is no excuse, plain and simple. You know you will sign your contract for a $60M and he needs a strong running game. Henry was there for a reasonable price. Yet you sign 4-5 jag RBs to do what Henry would have given.

Fair point. I agree with you just trying to understand the reasoning for not signing him.

Henry has been lucky to have running QB's his entire tenure in the NFL to open those lanes.
Will the thrill Levis, Ryan Tannehill, Marcus Vick Mariota.
When he had a 69 yard run last year, the defense was just frozen on if Levis was going to take it to the house himself. Just a lucky RB.

Can't be that Henry is just a monster of a human and if he gets a full head of steam, DBs start making business decisions.

We fans alway think it's easy...did Jerry screw up? Sure, but 30 other teams could have gone after him too.

True but Henry would help the defense maybe more than either signing a defender. Ball control on offense…. More points on offense. It was a no brainer

How do you figure? According to analytics our line is giving the RBs 5.4 yards. The running backs just aren't good.
Analytics, eh? Lies, dam lies, then there's stats.

Show me these plays where o line is 6 yards up the field looking for someone to pancake. You can't....it doesn't exist.

Off-season move should have been to trade Dak and Lance for a 1, 2 and 6

Trade the 6 for Fields as starting QB. Siign Henry, a starting DT and a starting WR in free agency

That team would win 3-4 more games than this one and have an extra 1st and 2nd round pick to get even more talent
