But we know the phenom Trout is. The likelihood that Judge will touch Trout is slim to nill. Trout's second season destroys Judge's (both of their "rookie" years). And Trout was 20, sir.
I value greatnessIf your asking me what I think, I will tell you that I believe it's very unlikely that Judge will be another Trout. I would not say that Judge will be better or worse, it depends on too may variables. I don't think Judge will ever hit for the same average that Trout will. On the other hand, I don't know that Trout will ever be the power hitter that Judge might end up being. If you value the long ball more then you do the average, then maybe you go with Judge. To many things can happen. That's why this game is so great.
You say that Trout's 2nd season destroyed Judge's 2nd season. I don't know that I agree with that. Consider, Troute played about twice as many games as Judge in his first trip to the majors so in his second season, he started out with much more experience. Having said this, Trout has better BA, more hits, more extra bases, fewer SOs but Judge has more walks, more HRs, more RBIs, better Slugging %, better OBP and Total Bases. Both had similar fielding percentages in their second year.
It's what you value.
I value greatness
Not a bad start at all. A power hitting phenom start. Maybe a Thome/Thomas-type career. I admit, I was very wrong about Judge. And he's a good guy, too. A good role model for our kids.Don't we all. Trout, to this point in is career, has certainly been that. Judge has just set the MLB record for HRs by a Rookie. Too early to say he will be as great as Trout but that's not a bad start.
I seriously doubt that. You guys need to do some research on what Trout has already accomplished. Only Walter Johnson and Babe Ruth have better WAR stretches over 5 years in baseball history. Think about that with all the thousands that have played in MLB history. Also think about as great as both of those players were, they didnt play against full time athletes (guys worked offseason) or the best players form all over the world (no African Americans or Hispanics). They also didnt play much against defensive shifts or pitching specialists (every team has 100 MPH bullpen guys now, nobody did coming out of the dead ball era). Judge maybe a great player at some point or the next Joe Charbonueau, way to early to tell. The picture on Trout is a lot more clear and I havent even talked about how little talent he has had around him a lot of his career.Judge may or may not be a better player then Trout,

Ted Williams and Barry BondsTrout's a monster. No doubt about it.
That's the true crime... How lousy the Angels have been at surrounding him with talent. Upton is going the FA route, which isn't going to help. Trout could end up being the greatest superstar ever not to have won a championship.
Ted Williams.

But he will never sniff the greatness that is Mike Trout.
ABQ -- for reference -- if we lose Trout, I will boycott the Angels for as long as either A) Moreno is the owner, or B) Trout retires.
His only flaw is that he's a damned die-hard Eagles fan. But he grew up in NJ, so he gets a pass, sir
