Giants played a great game of small ball last night to tie up the series.
Royals had to win that game last night because of the pitching match up tonight. SF has to be feeling pretty good this morning. Game 6 ought to be a barn burner.
Last night when KC went up 4-2 I thought to myself, this is just KCs time.
When royals went up 2-0 on orioles I thought to myself, this a hot team at the right time and a team of destiny.
BUT... I felt that San Fran had an edge. So I went with it.
Last night when KC went up 4-2 I thought to myself, this is just KCs time. I thought that bullpen would lock the game out at 4-2. So I just it's meant to be. And kind of leaned back to my original thought of KC destiny.
Only to wake up this morning and see that crazy score. I dont which way it's going now. Seems like San Fran got the advantage now even of ots 2-2. KC blew a golden opportunity. May not recover.
this will go 7 now, and it's anyone's series.
Both teams had to fight to get into the postseason so let's not forgot or acknowledge the Giants run. It is amazing two WC teams get into the playoffs and dominate everyone. I think the Giants win in 7.
The score was 4-1 and KC had the bases load and failed to score any more runs. I knew then they had blown their best chance to win and were probably done. Less than a hour later they were toast.
I don't know I am asking. Hasn't their bullpen been a major strength for them?
It has, but they didn't use their big horses last night. They brought in Duffy who was actually their best starter during the season (2.4 ERA or something close to that), and a couple of other guys who have been solid, but not lights out. Then later they brought in the guys just to eat innings.
Oh wow, thats crazy... They had a chance to go up 3-1 and you change the formula?
Sorta reminds me of Texas Washington coach putting Darren Oliver in the game. Created a landslide that they never recovered from. They lost the World Series. Cards didn't win it.
Larussa was like... I am outta here after that World Series title gift!
Yeah, Vargas started struggling a bit, and then he was pulled for Duffy with a couple of guys on. He was kind of shaky to start, but then I think he started to right himself to finish the inning, but the first Royals batter got on the next inning and they pitch hit for Duffy. I think if he had been able to keep going, things may have been different. Will never know though.
What about that Herrera guy?
He's usually the 7th inning guy. He has come in early a few times in the post season, but no earlier than the 6th. If I recall right, they went down 7-4 in the 5th.
Another great outing from Bumgarner. Still think this goes to game 7 and Bumgarner says he will be ready.
Had a great time at the game tonight. Gonna try to get tickets tomorrow.
