Man that factoid really makes me sick. The most frustrating part of this team the last decade for me has been this pathetic secondary.

I can't even remember the last time the Cowboys had a solid secondary. We've had problems at corner and safety for years. Newman was the last solid corner we had but he wasn't a playmaker he usually played not to get beat. We never had anyone opposite him that was solid and the lack of a consistent pass rush over the years hasn't helped the secondary.

Some folks just excel at pointing out what the Cowboys aren't. Good job, my man.

2007 imo.

Henry had 6 picks, Hamlin 5, Newman 4, Roy had 2 and pat Watkins had 1.

Good riddance, no use for stupid players in the secondary

Also weak minded when he walked off the team

We had a lot of picks that season but I also remember us giving up a number of plays. Henry was a riverboat gambler who picked off a lot of passes but would get burned at times. There was a lack of consistency.

His future will be somewhere else unless he's kept for depth as a backup that's all he's good for.

...And that's a sad commentary for someone who was drafted so highly.

just shows it is not the players near as much as the scheme and coaching.

Not really all that true, as many teams with superior players win far more than just better coaching.
Great players with decent coaching with more.
It takes both, but the truth is, Cowboys just don't have the players.

Barry Switzer proved this with the Cowboys. They won with Jimmys players, while Barry was in cruise control,
They then started losing after FA kicked in, and started losing players, but with some still decent coaches.

He'll probably go to Carolina and become a star with Norman.

He'll end up in Arizona with Peterson & Honey Badger, and play better.

We will sign a free agent like Trumaine Johnson or Casey Heyward and get more out of the CB position.

Everyone wins.

The draft is a crapshoot and we lost on Mo. The thing that got me was Mo was never brought in for an up close and personal look the Cowboys never gave him a private workout. Had they done that they may have seen something in his performance that would have raised a red flag.

I agree...I really do think the Cowboys fell into the trap of, "well, most teams had him rated highly on their boards and we did too, so..." Bottom line, they took what they felt was a low-risk, can't-miss pick and ran with it.

That's exactly what happened but Mo's 40 time and the reports he wasn't physical raised a red flag for me and several others on the board immediately after we took him 4 years ago.

Couldn't agree more. There were questions raised, especially since we traded up to get him.

The biggest issue with the decision to trade up and draft Claiborne is that the Cowboys never met with him. If I'm trading two high picks to get a guy, I want to know that we did all of our homework.

The other red flag should have been the Rams, who desperately needed a CB, trading away from the pick.

I wouldn't mind Claiborne in an Eagle, Giant, or Skins uniform next year. Wouldn't mind at all. I doubt those three teams will show little to no interest, though. Because he was a weak link to which they could attack without worry.

Even Bobby Carpenter got picked up by some team after he was let go by the Cowboys. So, I'm sure Claiborne will generate some interest at a cheap incentive-laden contract. And, I'm sure Claiborne will spend a significant time getting beat and then, injured. Same old pattern for him. Get beat, get beat, get beat and then claim injury.

Claiborne is a loser with a loser mentality. The quicker we say sayonara to him, the better.
