Bro, I am not going digging for projections from before-early last NCAA season. Don't buy if you don't believe. It makes no difference to me.

"Gardner was named to the first team All-Pac-12 squad as a senior despite playing in just eight games. He compiled 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks while totaling 19 tackles, one forced fumble and one blocked punt during the regular season.

Considering that he was an integral component of Stanford's success defensively the past three seasons, Gardner may have been the most shocking of the Combine snubs and he posted the most eye-popping numbers in retaliation, wowing scouts from all 32 NFL teams on March 20 with a 39.5" vertical and 10-2" broad jump after measuring 6-foot-4, 262 pounds. Those numbers would have ranked second and fifth, respectively, among all defensive linemen tested in Indianapolis in 2014"

That along with his tape is more than enough for me to say he will play and perform well.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Stock response to an unsubstantiated claim. If you had not been definitive "2nd or 3rd round", I would not have called you on it.

Saying he was in the top 100 players in last year's draft was a stretch and of course, you just can't find the time to look it up.

I will answer for you. The highest he was at any time last year was #176 by CBS Sports, which equates roughly to the sixth round. And that was in February.

But you had time to Google this. Nicely done.

Lots of players with 2nd or 3rd round grades get snubbed. Perhaps a couple a year. But I guess we just lucked out.

That along with his tape is more than enough for me to say he will play and perform well.

And that is fine. All you have is hope, no other proof he was regarded nearly to the level you claimed.

So I was wrong.

Since my claims hurt your sensibilities let me rephrase or repeat:

I think Gardner will be a contributor.

I really don't have an issue with your opinion that he might contribute. It was just the idea that he was considered a 2nd-3rd type that we stole.

That simply is not the case.

I hope he comes through myself as well, he talks a good game.

If he does it is gravy, I certainly would not place any amount of emotional capital into it happening.

Well, I hope your ego got the steroid injection it was so clearly, desperately seeking.
