My company is located in a office complex footsteps from The Star. So far today only one co-worker has brought up the game. There's been much more discussion about college football. To be frank, nobody but select diehards are emotionally invested in this team anymore. That's the sense I get around this city. The younger the person the worse it gets. This franchise is in danger of losing a generation to apathy. You can't live off the 70's, 80's, 90's fans forever. Anybody else getting the same sense at work today?

I am from NY but have several connections to the Cowboys in the Dallas area. I made a comment on these boards a while back about this very issue. Got hammered for it. The Ho**rs can be a vicious group. I think this franchise is in big trouble. Texas is a proud football state. Jerry can't get away with the circus act forever. I will also say this, at least Jerry can be charming. Junior is just an overt arrogant jerk. If this season goes pear shaped early - look out.

The Giants don't look tough at all really

Plus their oline sucks and Eli is old Eli now. Our pass rush is good too.

The problem is our pass game is horrendous so because of that it will be a close game.

We have the clear cut advantage in this game though but lack of coaching in the pass scheme just evens the odds.

The giants have a better offense and defense than we do. Going to be a tougher game the carolina was.

I have personal real life circle of fans, and many just don’t even watch anymore, but do other things with the family. I don’t even ask anyone any more if they watched the game, because a lot of times it’s just met with a nahhh

I hear ya...…….same here.

I got some cousins in the 20s and they are just like you said, they don't even bother to watch the games anymore. They are way more interested in the latest season of Game of Thrones than if the Cowboys won or lost.

They have a better secondary. I'll take our front 7 and overall defense.

Their offense is probably better then ours but their offense is nothing to be afraid of and there is no mismatch for them.

I guess Evan Engram lined up on our safeties is the only matchup im worried about.

To be fair, I think football in general is in serious trouble of becoming a sport of the past. Though, Jerry's ineptitude and the arrogance of his seeming successor is certainly putting the Cowboys on that fast track.

Because our OL is still better then theirs.

The big advantage is our defensive line against their Offensive line. There is no bigger mismatch in this game.

The problem is our offensive pass game will be terrible and it even this thing out.

Giants are being overhyped and it will play out. Odell Beckham is overrated too btw. I know some of you have bought into his hype but he's an overrated player and im glad they paid him and still have no nuts and bolts on that team.

Also, i'm so glad they drafted Barkley and not a QB. Another win for everyone in the division.
I really think our o line is over rated. The Panthers neutralized the line...our run game...our RPO... I won't say they stopped our passing game because we really don't have one. Even if our D line wins against the Giants o line....our inferior coaching will lose the game as usual.

I am retired but yes, around me in the house today it's not about the Cowboys. I am a Razorback, I go all in on the pain.

Based on yesterday our oline is no longer a strength. I agree.

Lol...fans don't only live in Dallas. Also, what were they in Forbes?

The people who built that wealth, like me, are getting older. Fans under 25 have no memory of the Cowboys playing in championship games. To them Dallas is just an average NFL team that gets too much exposure, particularly the doddering fool who runs the team (and his son). They're Twitter folly - how will the Cowboys screw up this week?

What's happened to this team in the 21st century is a damn shame, and precisely the fault of the man who owns it. But hey, he's still rich and we're #1 in Forbes!

i'm beginning to care less and less on a weekly basis. the best thing about the nfl season is it coincides with the hunting season. if the front office can't figure out it is undermanned with garrett as its head coach, then it just isn't worth caring about any more. it just doesn't grasp the concept of the importance of a good head coach.

Yes, and the time has come to invest heavily in our defence. If our oline is going to crumble, then let's make our defence as good of a defence as we can make it. If we do that, then the worst that we should be able to do is a 0-0 draw,

Good point...………..one big factor is parents are not letting their kids play football much anymore due to concussions. So kids just find something else to do like Netflicks or PlayStation.

Yes, and I think that is where it's heading. I'm noticing that ESports is getting quite the traction, and I could see that quickly becoming a top sport along with English football. English football has been getting rather popular on the US side of the Pond, I've been noticing. I don't think it'll capture American Commercialball (as I like to call it, among other things), but it's gaining traction.

I think interest in the NFL in general is waning all around the country. I used to be in like 4 fantasy leagues and a few survivor pools. I’m down to one fantasy league as interest in NFL has really dried up with the people I know. Most of the people I know that have lost interest are non Cowboys fans.

I can attest to this. 3 years ago, I had to open 3 or 4 leagues because I could easily fill leagues. Now, I had to autodraft for an old league that I'll probably just delete midseason. In my furry community, people were all for giving it a try (and that's when I first started to see a large lack of interest in football). Now, I get a lot of, "Who still watches that game?"

lol know what is sad? I get text messages saying they are sorry for my loss whenever the boys lose. Instead of straight up trash talk like it should be.
Wow, similar thing to me, no trash talk, just "thought they were going to be better"
