I don't really see it as his fault. Generic and predictable playcalling. Has McFadden or Dunbar done better running the ball?

You could be correct but most of the time when Garrett would abandon the run in the past (before the OL was as good as it is now and before Murray proved he could stay healthy last season) it was due to his lack of faith in either the running game, OL or the back.
