More Ellis trade talk??

And you propose what?

Whining about something that hasn't happened yet?

Assuming posters that say he's going to dog it are correct?

Propose cutting our 2nd best pass rusher?

Whine about not trading him when you have no clue what the offers are?
What are your solutions? If you're going to pan his, shouldn't yours be known too?

This isn't that difficult.

How many options are there?

1) Trade
2) Cut
3) **** and play
4) If he dogs it cut, suspend or trade him.

What's that you say? We only have only have 1 other pass rusher?

What a shocker we haven't cut or traded him yet.

I'm willing to bet there is a hidden 5th option that states "whine if any of the above happen".

I have no idea what point you just tried to make. My apologies if I am being obtuse.

Clearly too much motorcycle without a helmet.

That means you didn't wear one.

Only 4 options. Throw 1 and 2 out the window because we have no other pass rushers.

Okay, so I asked you what solutions you propose, and in response you gave me 4 options, but still haven't presented what you think is the right way to handle the Ellis situation.

Right?

Any particular reason why you simply can't share what your solution would be? Or is the purpose of this exercise just for you to bag on any solution no matter what is presnted?

That is essentially where you've lost me. I asked for your proposed solution. It has nothing to do with my having had motorcyle wrecks. I asked a question and it wasn't answered.

Understand I'm not digging at you. You're questioning MW and thus far he and I have disagreed on Ellis. I very well may agree with you. I just want to know what your stance is, and by the last 2 posts I have no idea other than you think MW is off base.

I think there are only 2 solutions, he plays for Dallas or they workout a trade. As far as dogging it I don't think that will be the case and the main reason is Ellis would have nothing to gain by not going out and taken care of his business but could lose a lot, teams do not pay a lot for poor performances. Ellis may not like the situation he is currently in but when hits the field I firmly believe he will do his job.

However, he did say in one of the articles that he would only do what was expected of him and no more. Insinuation being, I'm taking it easy this year, so I don't get hurt because I'm not giving my all for this team.

My solution is trade him. I've made that clear. I think at this point he's worthless to this team unless as I said, he strips his gears coming out of reverese.

I guess one could read that into the statement however one could also say he will go out and give the same effort he always has which is expected of him. I think he will play this season for Dallas after this season who knows. Only way I could see Dallas trading him is if he holds out. At this time I really don't expect that to happen. Should be interesting to see how it plays out. Let me also say much of the reports we are seeing is not new but the same things being rehashed over and over.

My feeling is that the options are extremely limited. Either Ellis plays for the Cowboys this season, or they trade him for a player who would fill the role he would vacate.

I think Ellis will ultimately show up and (grudgingly) play.

But if the team were to trade him, I don't want something for next year. I think this team can win it all now. Losing Ellis' pass rush would hurt those chances and a 2007 pick won't help.

I proposed a trade with the Texans for Antwan Peek a few weeks ago and I still feel that's the best bet.

Peek is a better fit for the 3-4 and Ellis a better fit for the 4-3.

For me, losing a player and gaining a "promisary note" doesn't help the 2006 Cowboys - a team with a chance to win it all.

This is painful.

I said "throw out #1 and #2" which were trade/cut.

That leaves #3 "**** and play" and #4 "if he dogs it cut/trade him.

Since we can't see into the future how he is going to play (dog it or not) we/he **** and play.

As I said earlier......we don't have any other pass rushers besides Ware.

Hence we haven't cutting or trading him.

There really is only one answer when 3 can be easily removed from the equation which I did in an earlier post.

Is it time to bow?

Thank you for solving the entire issue. It's all so clear now. We should stop talking about it and reflect heavily on this post while chanting...

Om mane padme om.

Naw.

So why is cutting or trading him, #1 and #2, not an option? Please don't tell me because you say so or because Ware is our only pass rush option if we do. That's too vanilla.

Maybe it's time Charles got involved so we really know what you think of this Realist guy. ;)

I like Realist. He's usually very poignant. Or was it repugnant? I forget.

Either way, you know I like that stuff. :)

I'm just jerking his chain because his "solutions" contradict a bit. After all solution #4 is basically solution #1 or #2 after Ellis has proven himself a distraction.

That and I have no idea what "**** and play" means. Every 4 letter cuss word I put in there doesn't make sense. Then again I may need to learn more cuss words so that may be my fault.

To me it comes down to Ellis. Does Ellis want to play this new role? Does Ellis think he can play WOLB? Does Ellis feel threatened by all the new talent brought in?

If you can't convince Ellis, then I don't know that you need a guy on this team who is not in sync with the others and with BP.

I love Ellis's 8 sacks, but we need new blood to step up and be a force. Will it be Carpenter? What about Hatcher? Maybe Canty can be a Richard S. for us?

Ellis is not a 3-4 linemen, period. He was pushed around all over the field last year, and the only time he was effective was when he was in the nickel rushing the passer. So I like Ellis in the Nickel role, but does he?
