More proof : Dak thread

In other news I have even more respect for Dak already having a great head on his shoulders in regards to how he stands by Jerry and what football and the cowboys represent. Just wish I didn't doubt his nfl ability so much.

I'm willing to bet the yardage is in big favor of the other guys...

Not to mention we're comparing two years worth to nine years which isn't fair at all for the other players

Why isnt Wentz up there then? He has an even smaller sample size.

It's not comparing two years to nine years, it's comparing every possible length within that timeframe, from 1 year and up.

ummm ... over a 9 year period, hundreds of QBs played in the NFL

And still it doesn't fairly compare efficiency as players who have played longer are at risk of having lower numbers and qbr doesn't show me their stats. We know Dak is very good when on and God awful when he's off. This specific qbr only tells me how he was with no pressure, but I was just reading or watching something how he hasn't been as efficient when he has plenty of time because he's slower with his reads it late on his release. When he has pressure he has to make a much quicker decision,so it goes against this qbr stat.

One had 317 yards, one retired and the other didn't crack 900 yards.

You're acting as if Witten retiring was the Cowboys' fault lol "They got rid of all the receivers" The other 2 combined BARELY cracked 1200 yards.

Nothing that can't be replaced compared to last year, Witten is the one that really hurts.
To add to what you stated, I'd venture to say that the team receiving yards this season will surpass last season's total (3326 yds). The yards may be distributed amongst more players, but I'm betting the overall total is greater...not by a lot, mind you, but an increase nonetheless.

Then they forgot a key aspect. An overhaul is when you take something apart and repair it. All they did was take it apart.

A little early to say its not repaired. They got Hurns in free agency, drafted Gallup, & traded for Austin. Unless you can see into the future I say we see how it plays out

We've got plenty to go on with Hurns and Austin.

There is no context here for the numbers. Is everyone in the league around 81 or 82? You can't simply look at a set of five numbers and take any meaning out of it without an understanding of the variability of the entire set.

Those arent a random set of five numbers.

Those are rhe best career QBRs over a very vast sample size over many many years.

You can a meaning out of the data set if you just think critically. Let me know if you arent able to.

Yep, you nailed it Cpanther, we didn't do squat to add any young, faster talent on the WR corps... damn it Jerry!!! <sarc>

One is faster and 3 months younger, the other is slower and 3 years younger than Dez. Butler was much faster than Hurns.

Maybe they should have focused on "better" instead.

He also led the league in passer rating versus the blitz last season.

He was also one of the worst when not facing a blitz - Bloggingtheboys, I believe, had a great write up about how if Dak gets pressured early on he plays scared the rest of the game.

DAK played worse last year after the Chaz Green bozo olympics against Arnold..@ blind side tackle..Hence the name, blind side tackle.

However some truth to Dak playing better on the run, than in the pocket. ITS kind of weird, and i think he knows it. i read an interview where he admitted that. THE point is that last year was many reasons for Daks play. GOOD OR BAD..

Although its his responsibility to overcome those issues, its also the teams responsibility to continue to Protect him from ignorant players that should not even be in the Nfl..I think they took steps to do that, (meaning fixed the fups they caused in the first place) Lets see what Reads and passing to the open wr does for whatever you rate a qb by!

If he was in fact one of the worst without pressure last year, it would make OPs initial image that much stronger.

Wait I thought Dak sucks?

He does......
