Good morning,Cbz and all Zoners.
Yesterday was an eye-opener. In late October, Key West has a thing called Fantasy Fest, which is an excuse for excess in many ways. The Mrs and I were taking in the historical sites, which were really interesting and my wife was shopping up a storm. There were lots of people with little or nothing on, clad primarily in body paint.
While I applaud the many creative (and quite provocative) efforts, there were were people who clearly should reconsider that time and gravity have made for a slightly less than complimentary effect. In short, beauty is only skin deep, and some skin needs to hide.
The topper for us happened when we got back on board. Another Carnival ship (The Miracle) was coming into port, and, as we had sailed in that ship before, we were feeling nostalgic.
As the ship got closer, we noticed that there were a lot of people on deck to greet us and were impressed. As the ship got closer, we realized that something was different. I noticed that several people on the uppermost deck were not wearing anything. We then noticed that everybody on deck was naked. People were on their balconies. Naked. I estimate that about 1500 people were out on deck, waving everything they had at us. Naked.
Apparently, Carnival offers a Clothing-Optional cruise to take advantage of Fantasy Fest. My final observation is that the big challenge for bar owners in Key West to keep the bar stools clean.
Today is Nassau and we're going on a submarine ride and an historical tour. Lots of Naked fish.
Everybody have a great day.
