it is freezing outside literally and has been for 2 days I am so not ready for winter it gets dark around 4 pm and light around 8 am...got the winter tires on and tomorrow take the car to the shop and get its juices replaced...

thanks Leon... I hope it listens to ya...it has been one of those times where it seems like everything went bad/wrong and we had a lot more going out than coming in but the good news is that it didn't kill us yet so it should make us stronger in the end

got it done and put most of the plants to bed for the winter got the salt/lava gravel and shovel got my christmas lights up and shuttered the basement windows checked my boots and gloves for holes and got a new set of thermals...I got oil for my lamps and plenty of candles...the canned goods are stocked but still I'm not ready for winter if ya know what I mean.

Ahhh yes German winters. I remember them well. I was there from June 88 until Jan 91 and saw 3 white Thanksgivings and 1 white Christmas. :laugh1:

surprised you didn't mention any white Halloweens as well it is often the case... I swear one year when I was stationed in Munich we had one nice day in the summer and I worked it...had I known it was going to be the only nice day that year I would have took off work ... Over here in the black forest area we get nicer weather in the summer but geesh does it get cold and stay cold a long time we still have snow on the ground a lot of the time when all over germany people are enjoying the spring... of course its because the trees cast so much shade that the sun can't get to a lot of places (that is why it is named the black forest).

Where did this week go? 2 to 8 inches of snow being predicted for my camp which is only 50 miles north of our home. Winter is coming - fast.
