Morning Cbz40 and fellow members of the yard...Soon as you have you coffee pickup your work assignments for the weekend ...Most were submitted by spouses ,the rest are to meet at my places to mow,paint and etc...See you around 6am
 
Good Morning to all you regulars and all. Another day in paradise. Off to take the old truck back to the shop to get the new engine tuned up after the installing shop couldn't to the job x5. You get less than you pay for is the new motto. Did I say all that out loud? Damn whining. Later.

Good for you Phil, not so good for Bob I'm sad to say. Bob, it's a crap deal but you are right. Anymore, that's what you get.

Beautiful morning out this morning. Was about 65 all the way in to work, temp is only supposed to get into the lower 90s and tomorrow, it's supposed to dip into the 80s. That's about as good as you can ask for in August around here.

Sorry to read about the lousy "pay for more than you got close to receiving" work on the engine install, Jobber. SUCKS when that happens. When you say, "old truck," is it a collectible restoration, or a work truck you're maintaining?

76 Cheyenne 4x4 that's an old restoration. Put a 383 in after son blew 350 (no oil) and they just can't get it right. Exhaust leak long story and multiple other problems. Just got back from new shop which I think will do a good job. Engine was a vortex head crate motor and he says you can't use exhaust gaskets with those heads and the old cast manifolds. So maybe he knows what he's doing. Very nice truck but needs lots of little things to get it right. Rebuilt 350 tranny also shifts too soon. Yada.

I am car rich and money poor.

Looks like a rebuild project that's about to pay off, if this new shop gets the work done right like you have a feeling they will. Sorry to hear about the "no oil" engine blow up. That'll sure do it. Bet your son was mortified. I know I would've been.

Graduated HS in '76, in Southern Idaho, so 60s and 70s Chevy 4x4 Pickups were a very popular choice in rural, yet such varied outdoor country back then... the "Cheyenne" trim package on the Chevy C/K was about as popular as they came. Regular sight on the roadways and off-road ways, where I lived.

Ah, takes me back. :D

Jobberone my mechanic that's rebuilding the SBC 350 in my '55 convertible called me this morning to come take a look. He finally received the parts and it's almost complete (should be ready early next week). It's looking really good and hopefully it will run as good as it looks.

Bob, I'm sorry I missed my work detail. No really. You can believe me.

Morning Pops. Good Saturday Morning, Everybody.

Hope the day treats you all very kindly. May it also treat the health of our 'Boys kindly. Can't take reading a whole lot more bad news from TC... not in such quick succession, anyway. A breather for all of us on that front would be nice.
