FEATURED Morning Pops!

Morning Pops. Morning to all the regular posters and to all who may stop in for a visit.

Hope everybody is well this morning. Off to a busy day but that's OK too. Makes the day go by faster.

Today would have been Mom's 81 birthday. What a great gal! Everyone loved her, she never said a bad word against anyone, and was the greatest Mom anyone could ever have. She was a saint in the truest form of the word.

We love you and miss you Mom.

I hope all here will stop for a moment and appreciate their Mom. Please, help me celebrate her birthday today. She left a note to be opened on her death and one thing it said was to never stop talking to her. She would still be there to listen and hear. So Happy Birthday, Flo. Find Pops and give him a hug.

Good morning, Cbz and Happy Birthday, Flo! :bravo: Goo day to all of you not-used-to-the -cold folks. It's in the low 20's here today, as it has warmed up a bit.;) You guys will likely get warmer weather in days, but for me it's months. Just move faster and you'll stay warm. If the weather makes it tricky to drive, then take it easy and stay safe. Have a geat day.:D

hello all... its been awhile so I guess I should catch you all up

it snowed about 10 days before Halloween and has been snowing off and on since than...I have had enough of shovelling it but sadly we aren't even in winter yet we had -12.5 degrees this morning when I walked the dog (8-9 am) and the older I get the more my arthritis just don't like it...and though I hate to wear long underwear I think I am going to start doing it.

as you all know my Dad had cancer and passed away the 1st of December at the age of 86 almost 87

so I guess I am an orphan now

still haven't found a competent barber in my area and the hair saloons want W A Y too much money for a stinking hair cut so the hair has gotten very long and I am thinking of doing some Willie Nelson braids...its becoming a pain in the :moon:but my protest will continue even if I have to look like cousin "it".

my 2 girls want to use me as a horse to pull their riding sled with them on it through the snow to kindergarten...(I would like to do it) but the health won't allow it.

I guess thats all till next time my friends

happy birthday to Job's Mom

Welcome back, Zax. You have been missed. My condolences on the death of your father. It sounds like he earned every one of his 86 years and here's hoping both you and he are at peace. Don't worry abou the hair. At least you have all of yours (Insert jealousy here) and you could always let your girls have fun with it. (Corn rows, anyone? ;) ) Take care and don't stay away. BTW, Sarge is also AWOL. Have a great day, my friend.:D

Nice to see u back Zax. Condolences for your Dad. Let us know if u need anything even to just talk.

Jobberone and Zax. Condolences to both of you. I lost both of my parents 5 years apart, several years ago. I still think of them daily and talk to them often. Revel in the good memories you have of them and be glad you knew them.

Thank you Leon. Didn't visit the grave yesterday as one doc kept me 4 hours in his office then had to pick up grandson and go to church. But will go this weekend to place new flowers. Thanks again. This place means a lot to me because of the Boys and all the great friends here.

Ok, it's another day in paradise. Good Morning Pops and all the wonderful people who frequent here. Have a blessed day.

Morning Pops. Morning to all of the regulars.

Zax, I am sorry to hear this news. That's no Bueno my friend.

Jobs, your right on with your post. When people you love pass on, all that's left really is what you remember and that is pretty powerful stuff.

Have a good day everybody.

:)

Jobberone, it's a time of year when I reflect on Christmases with those who are no longer here and I'm reassured by the positive memories it brings. This will my wife's first Christmas without her Dad and Zax will be missing his father as well. Like you, I offer my support durning this or any other time. Zax, if you read this, feel free to drop in and talk, but know that you're being thought of.

I just got in from my Doc, who advised me that I'm still going to be here awhile. Good feelings abound here, especially with Pops looking out for us. Another day in my slightly cooler part of paradise, but the sun is shining and people seem happy to see me at work. Now I should actually do some work.:p: Everyone take care and have a great day.:D

Morning, Cbz. Morning, folks. Phil congrats on your good medical check-up. I'm happy for you. Everybody have a great day.

Good morning Pops and good morning to golfers and other assorted slackers. Time to become productive citizen and do your part. Go to work , go find a job if you don't have one ,if you do find a job for your wife and kids. The sooner you are out of the yard the sooner I can go back to sleep.

I thank you all for your heartfelt thoughts...Dad said it was like waiting in line at a grocery store..well I guess he finally got to check out :)

surprisingly I am not sad not one little bit, Dad had a good life and I got to talk to him before he went...I mean how great is that, most folks just don't get that opportunity so I consider myself quite fortunate and because I knew well in advance I got to say all that I wanted to say. 87 or close to that isn't bad and Dad would have hated being in a nursing home and was blessed to have general good health both physical and mental and so he was able to stay at home where he was able to die with the dignity he had lived his life with...another blessing.

Dad was my hero and a WWII hero who was blessed with that oh so uncommon common sense...a son couldn't ask for better just wished I could have been a bit more like him in some areas.

Morning Pops. Morning to all the regulars and to any newcomers who might show up.

Well, another Friday. Winding down the work week. Lots to do so I'll just say be well and have a great day.

:)

Good morning, Cbz and all the great people who come here. Zax, fathers can be tough to live up to, but being your best self is all anyone should ask. Your girls are a reflection of you as a parent, but ultimately will choose their own path, much like you chose yours. Reflect on the good times and think of the other times as "character building" moments. Be good to yourself and enjoy what your life is offering you. BTW, maybe it's time for updated pictures of you and your girls. Everybody have a great day.:D

Good morning Pop's, Leon ,and all who pass through today. Just caught up with the postings here, and heartfelt thoughts to Zax and Job! While dad is still with us,and feisty as ever for 87, today would be mom's birthday, but she left us 34 years ago. Think of her every day, and she lives thru the memories. God bless!

Morning Pops. Morning to all of the regulars.

Gotta work on the wife's truck today. Knuckle busting.

Everybody, have a great day.

:)
