Morning Pops, Leon, and all friends and followers! Going to "brine" some 11/2" thick pork chops and put them on the BGE later today!! Maybe add some fresh corn and possibly a few sweet potatoes....gotta watch my diabetic diet, don'cha know!!

Evening Pops, Leon, and all ye followers.
Have had the BGE (large) for about 14 months now, and won't go back to anything else. Love it!! I also have a BGE (mini) that I found at the local flea market, and bought for $75 from a couple who were moving. It's neat.I mainly use it to finish off steak cooks. I will slow cook a steak indirect on the large, and then sear it at 500-600 for a minute a side to complete the steak! I also use it for small, 2 person cooks!

Morning Pops, Leon, Jobb, and all ye fine gentlemen...and ladies!
Yeah, Leon, it was a great price on the mini, but I had to spend another $75 for new lift system for it. Still, for $150, a good deal. I wish I tailgated, cause it would get lots of use.
I've had barrel smokers before, some with a gas barrel, a charcoal barrel, and a firebox, but, even covered, they lasted no more than 3 or 4 years before the bottoms rusted out. I'd finally had enough and became an "egghead". They say these things last many years, and have been the focal point of family fights when one kid gets it in the will !

Morning, Pops and friends. Please say a prayer for a golfing buddy of mine. He has cancer at the entrance to his sinus cavity. The doctors removed most of the tumor but will have to go back to get the rest of it. The surgery will result in the loss of his eye, then he will undergo chemo or radiation. Thanks.
