FEATURED Morning Pops!

Morning, Pops and all you other fine folks too. I played the most schizophrenic round golf I've ever played yesterday. I got a birdie and 5 or 6 pars but still shot 94. Triple bogies and a quad bogie just killed me. Have a great day everyone.

Can feel for you, Leon. Have been there myself, too many times. You're cruising along with a string of good holes, and for some reason (psych, loss of concentration, a stray rock on the course that misdirects your ball, a beautiful approach shot that hits a trap rake some fool left up near the green) the wheels start to come off.
Exasperating, isn't it. I do my darndest to try to forget that hole and move on to the next, but it ain't easy.
Yet we still come back. It's the pars and occasional birdies that fuel us. Keep swinging, my friend!!!
 
By the way, just downloaded a new app for IPhone/ IPad called "golf shot". It's a gps based system that gives you yardage (shot length, distance to hazards, front of green, back of green), and more. It has a data base of supposedly 40,000 courses around the world, and includes all the courses we play around here. Will it improve my game? Heck, who knows. But at least it will be interesting to see how long, or short,I hit my shots.
I'll let you know how it works after I get a chance to use it......when it stops raining!

Nice day here. Not too hot, overcast mostly. About 85 here right now. That's a nice day for July around here.

I started off with a double and a triple, then had a birdie, a double and a quad before getting a par on the next hole. It was up and down like that all day. I finished with 3 pars and a bogie on the last 4 holes though so I'm encouraged to go back. lol

I tried a similar app on my Iphone. It worked okay but used up my battery. Make sure your phone is fully charged. I bought a Bushnell neo+ GPS and I just love it.
 
Morning, Pops and Zoners. TGIF! Have a nice day everyone. Unfortunately, my daughter and granddaughter leave today to go back to Calif. We had a good visit, though and the little one is more than ready to see Daddy again after 3 long weeks.

Have to go to a funeral today. Not my favorite thing in the world but the good news is that the man was loved so eventually, it will be a celebration of his life. It's a beautiful day for it. Couldn't have picked a nicer one.

Morning, Pops and everyone. I've got a golf tournament today. It's a scramble format with 4 person teams. Those are always tons of fun.
 
Morning Pops and all. Everyone have a great day. Maybe it won't rain as much today. The ground is soggy most everywhere. Can't get equipment into the fields. Green as heck around here though.

It's flooding here. You can have all you want. But last year it did this right after I planted my garden. Then quit for a month. Burned my corn up and everyone else's too.

Generally the ground soaks up rain in a day. We have standing water. Mosquitoes are BAD. And you can't cut the grass. Looks like the Serengeti out there. :)
 
Morning, Pops, Jobber and the world! Have a blessed day and enjoy the leisure. My team shot 61 yesterday, one stroke behind the "low gross" winners. We won the "low net" score, though.
