Workin' out great so far Coach!

Man, some of you think that every 30-something year old vet is Ray Donaldson.

There ain't much out there.

Don't need Ray Dolandson, but at this point we have Ronald McDonald.

There ain't much out there.

And there ain't much here either...

What about Faine. He's still out there. Pretty decent center if my memory serves me.

Tim MacMahon@espn_macmahonWalkthru ended 20 minutes ago. Tyron Smith is still on field working on footwork with OL coach Bill Callahan.

Gotta love his work ethic.

Faine is done. He's basically where Gurode was last year. Lost his job to a younger player who isn't all that good.

How about former Raven/Ram Jason Brown?

Morris Claiborne won't play vs Oakland but wants to return for San Diego. He'll get pads on next week.

Tim MacMahon ‏@espn_macmahon
Walkthru ended 20 minutes ago. Tyron Smith is still on field working on footwork with OL coach Bill Callahan.

Mario Butler left camp because his baby is being induced today. "I tried my best to get them to induce it yesterday," Garrett joked.

Nick Eatman ‏@nickeatman
Bernadeau says he will be "full-go" at practice today in full pads and he looks forward to "hitting people."

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Alex Albright staying nearly half-hour after practice working on stance, blocking with TEs Hanna, Szczerba. Says he has 'zero' TE experience

Garrett says center, qb should take equal blame for bad snaps, in general. Says Arkin is doing nice job. Is learning to play center.

Garrett on bringing in vet center: 'Trust me, we've scoured the short lists.' Says have decided to stay with in-camp options for now.

Jean-Jacques Taylor ‏@JJT_ESPNDallas
Tyron Smith just spent 25 minutes after practice working on nothing but footwork

Tom Orsborn ‏@tom_orsborn
Cowboys have scanned waiver wire for center but are sticking with struggling group they have now, Garrett says.

David Moore ‏@DavidMooreDMN
If Mackenzy Bernadeau responds well in practice today and tomorrow he could see some action against Oakland.

Depends what you are looking for -- if you think we can replace Costa, that's not going to happen. If you think we can bring someone in so that we can actually get some plays run in pre-season, then that would be reasonable.

I think, though, a bunch hangs on Bern - I think the staff believes that Leary can play well enough to dress for games. Bern backed up at C his first 4 years so it isn't a stretch to think he's going to start at G and be the 2nd C on gamedays.

And I see McQ is snapping the ball today. He's going to make this roster as a C-G-T-TE

When the coach says they have looked at the waiver wire list and don't believe there is an upgrade relative to the players they already have that means that any of the names you guys are coming up with are not good enough. Keep trying though.

I played center in high school. I can at least snap the ball before I get bulldozed. Heck, I'll even do it for the vet minimum :)

In the 3 days I was in Oxnard Costa was pretty solid in the team work. The back up plan is the real issue and hopefully Bernadeau is the answer to that. Costa isn't Markice Pouncey but he is definitely improved from last year.

He may have priced himself out of the market - refused a low money deal with the Ravens.

Broaddus flat out asked Garrett who is at fault about the center-QB exchange and Garrett said it's on both of them and that they need to figure it out together and get it right.

How is it Romo's fault when a shotgun snap sails wide of him? Or isn't snapped on the correct count?

I should have clarified that was in the context of the "under center" exchanges.

No excuses for the shotgun snaps and the counts.

Well, last week there was a convo about the issue was with Orton. And then some of that is with the center's inexperience.

I think it depends which QB-Center exchange you're evaluating.
