I just hope Jerry is taking a stand, and this is what's taking so long. Maybe, just maybe he is telling interested teams that he wont budge on whatever he is asking for in return for Romo. With the fact that in theory, we do not have to release him.
I may be wrong but on the Draft Frenzy when this all first came out they stated that people inside the organization had and were still trying to convince Jerry to not release Romo, that he had value and to be patient. There was no rush to release him. Not sure how much truth to that.

The longer this goes the better draft pick we will get. Houston or Denver will eventually offer a draft pick to JJ likening.

There is no one to draft that can compete this year. I mean there might be but not one of them projects as such.
That's a fair point, but time will tell. I still don't think Tony gets traded for, but I'm more than happy to be wrong on that.

Is that just a gut feeling or what? I think we might only get peanuts like a later pick but I think we will at least get something.

We have Houston over a barrell right now too.

Oh it's just a total gut feeling. I didn't mean to make it sound like more than that. lol

Glennon just got 14.5 per year. Brock got traded. Does Houston want to pay Cutler north of 14 million per year? We know they don't want Savage to be their starter. Are they going to trade multiple 1st Rd picks for Garrapolo? They have no choice but to rely on getting Romo. Of course they want to sign him with no assets given up, but then you risk him being free to sign in Denver, which seems to be the place he's been most frequently linked to all along.

Houston is Denvers roster before they signed Peyton. Do they really want to be left at the alter or stay on the QB carousel? If the Cowboys are prepared to wait this out, I don't see how Houston don't get even more desperate.

Make Houston sweat it out. Don't give in Jerry.

In reality, waiting won't hurt Romo either. Houston wants him. That's obvious.
Jerry should wait it out as long as it takes. Houston and Denver are not going to win anything with the qbs that they have on their rosters.
The longer it goes, the more that Jerry can get. I would say fine screw you guys I'll just keep him then and good luck with the bums that you have.

lets give Jerry some credit here in that he smoked out some interest by bluffing Romo release.

He was supposed to be released by now. The fact that he isn't means to me we'll get something for him. Whether that is a premium pick or player remains to be seen. But negotiations are happening as we sit here...
I certainly hope you're right.
