Broaddus today said that coverage was rolled to Dez a lot. That's why Romo went the other way.

Ok so they took Dez out of the game, why can't we take the other team's stud receiver out of the game. Our receivers are the only ones who get taken out of the game by "rolling coverage."

The reason they take Dez out of the game easily is because he only knows like 3 plays. He can't run in motion or out of the slot.

Why did they play him then? He missed practice, was hurt, etc...

Isn't that when you trot out the next WR up and play him?

Because he should be a game changer even if he only knows 5 routes to run.

Welp, doubt it was Garrett, I'm thinking Stephen. Also the words complete disaster imply both on and off the field IMO.

We traded up for this disaster? Vert frustrating, I used to hope he would figure it out...that it was lack of a senior year, lack of training camps, etc. But I think it's clear, he's just not the brightest star in the locker room. He's no Pearson or Irvin.

T.O, Roy Willams and now Dez. it's always some one's fault other than Garrett or Rono. the two guys who have now lost 9 out of their last 13 games. and they have lost12 out of the last 18 with Romo as the starter.

And here are your Dallas Cowboys folks. This "leakage" is so much more of an indictment against this franchise than anything disappointing that's happened on the field. Just as things are rolling downhill coming off a string of tough losses, you've got "prominent executive officials" leaking negative stuff about your controversial star WR. Nice! :banghead:

Even if he's a headcase he's our biggest playthreat and teams double cover him every play.

First off, we've taken other teams' big guys out all year pretty much except for Brandon Marshall, and most of his stuff was catch and run, which really isn't dictated by coverage.

The reason teams can take Dez out of the game is because other teams have quality safeties. Ours, however, would have trouble starting in the CFL. Look at Jordy Nelson, Megatron, and to some extent Jimmy Graham. Teams are shifting coverage to them and really limiting what they can do. On the flip side of that, the attention that Dez commands freed up Laurent last year and has allowed Miles to get open A LOT this year. Not to mention the fact that he's on pace for nearly 1000 yards and 80 catches. It's not like Dez is being shut down completely, just limited. That's going to happen, especially when, on the times that he does get open like last night, Romo doesn't get him the football.

This is what makes me think the 'source' is a Garrett. The source that leaked out the TO drama, the source about Wades soft practices and how Jason was unhappy, the source about Dez. Who is still around that survived all 3 of those disaster seasons?

I think the "teams double Dez on every play" mantra I keep seeing here on CZ is WAY overplayed.

I don't believe it. Have any proof?

This is news? Who couldnt tell that from just watching the games?

Can't win with fools like him. Can not. He's a baller, he competes? Hogwash. He doesnt know the plays, doesn't run good routes, and though not completely his fault is a mess off the field. Other than that, what's not to like.

Just like our great GM said after the Quincy Carter draft "you dont win Super Bowls by laying up. You go for the green." Well, looks like Jerry's golf ball found water yet again with another high risk draft project.

Without "rewinding" the games, seems like he only runs three or four plays. When he does something different, he messes up and is out of position and seemingly undermines Romo by not being in the right place at the right time on the field.

He's totally unreliable, I can't imagine how Aikman would have dealt with him? He might have been cut long ago under the Jimmy regime.

My only problem is that they left off JG too cause his reign as a head coach is a complete disaster as well. Not exactly the same reasons but the results are the same.

This reminds me. I just saw this on rotoworld.

Jaguars free-agent bust Laurent Robinson returned from his concussions in Week 9 to operate as Jacksonville's No. 3 receiver.
He played 45 snaps, third behind Cecil Shorts' 60 and Justin Blackmon's 58. Although the Jaguars would take a significant cap hit to release Robinson after the season, it's worth noting that his "five-year, $32.5 million" contract contains no guaranteed money beyond 2012. He could be released in the winter.
Source: Florida Times Union

We couldn't sign him to a contract like that?

if we were confident in his ability to run proper routes, maybe he would be moved around, like playing some slot wr.
