So how did we almost have 3 1000 yard receivers in 2019?

How did Dak come 1 yard shy of breaking the Cowboys all time passing record from Romo?

If the receivers forgot how to play?

What did Dez, Witten, Gavin Escobar, Terrance Williams ever do after they left the Cowboys? Did they forget how to play?
I asked the same question. Still waiting on the answer. Its easier to blame Dak for Dez falling on his face because of his own cocky behavior of not honing his craft. Dez started failing when his body started failing him and he couldn't bully people anymore. If he took the Larry Fitz route. He would have honed his route running and still been able to get open. However he didn't. And has done nothing ever since he left. A similar post came out in another thread about how Lamb is going to be worse this year because Dak is throwing him the ball lol. People will literally say anything.

Nah..another Day weapon to juice his comeback. Will not surprise me that we trade up to get him. It would be logical. Dak is going to need to get rid of the ball quickly to avoid more injury. This is clearly one way to help the defense too. More TOP Redzone scoring and big plays to offset defense sshortcomings.

Dez was never the same when he played through the knee and foot injury then injured his arm or hand that one season. He was beat up after that his burst and his overall play declined. He never was a great route runner but once you loose that explosiveness that made you the superstar you was it was all down hill from there.

Pitts numbers vs Bama this past season. The kid is gonna be great.

So you're saying that the both of Bama's safeties are going to be all pro safeties in the NFL. I've said he has some really good numbers but most of them are against players that will not ever play in the NFL so they really don't count for that much. He would be far far far from the only college player with great numbers in college that never lived up to those numbers in the NFL because who they play against in the NFL are countless times better than the players they put up those numbers against in college. Just look at the number of QB's that turned out to be busts in the NFL, even one that was the first player taken in the draft. I just laugh at those that make any proclamations on a college player before they have even taken a single snap in the NFL.

No but I am saying that Bama is a perennial National title contender with good players everywhere and Pitts ate em up.

Oh I agree. But had he honed his craft he would have been a savvy route runner and managed to still play and get open when his body failed. Look at Larry Fitz.

Whew!! When I first glanced at the title to this thread, I thought it read "Jerry jones 'Infuriated' with Pitts". It pays to look before you leap...to conclusions!

TJ Hockensen, Eric Ebron, Vernon Davis, Kellen Winslow Jr. I may have missed one or two, not sure.

I agree that there's a reason they aren't taken high, and all of the above were supposed to light the world on fire and didn't.

Davis played well but was by no means uncoverable.

Pitts would literally have to be the best TE in the games history to live up to the pick.

But....there have been a handful taken in the top 10.

Gee are you going to send Kellen Winslow Jr a letter to the prison he's in telling how you stuck up for him? Non of those were great, some were good or OK but none of them great.

Oh I couldn't agree more if he could run routes Dez would've literally unstoppable I can remember standing on my couch in my man zone the night we drafted Dez I'm one of those that thought we had an absolute steal at where we drafted him. I hated it ended the way it did for Dez in Dallas.

LOL............of course you would. 100% you are right on cue on the wrong side of the argument. Not shocked at all. And to make things worse, you want to "trade up for Pitts".

Not only do you want to draft a TE with our top 10 pick you want to ruin the entire draft doing it. :lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

I have literally never seen a poster that understands the game of football less than you do.

Too bad your hero Dalton didnt have Pitts last year, maybe he would have scored more than 20 points a game. :muttley:

Anyone that understands football and how the draft works is going to take Pitts over your favorite defensive player.

You’re laughing at something you don’t have the football IQ to understand.

It’s literally a Potential Greg Ellis vs Randy Moss type scenario and you’re laughing at me for wanting to not repeat the wrong side of history again.

You answered my question and admitted that Bama's safeties aren't going to be NFL All Pros and in reality are college safeties. You're now saying like others that base things on one or two games and then make wild proclamations.. If he turns out to be good, fine but I realize who he's been playing against and how much better the players in the NFL are and I wait until I see what any college player does in the NFL before making any proclamations.

I wouldnt be shocked at all. The guy has no idea how to build a SB team.

I would only consider Pitts if he fell in our lap like Lamb but trading up for him would be the dumbest thing I'd ever seen. So it is very possible with Smails and Spaulding at the helm. The only trade they should even consider is DOWN and for extra picks. There is no one worth trading up for on the Defensive side. A really good player regardless will drop to us if we sit and if we trade down there will still be a ton of the better Defensive guys available. We all know that our owners like to be different (dumb).

You can say EXACTLY the same statement about every player also. I think he will be great you dont and thats fine. Thus is a stance that can be taken by everyone about everyone. I know this for sure though: we havnt won squat playing it safe, if the Cowboys believe Pitts to be special go get him.

Yes.. They do it all the time.

It's more rare when our first pick is a surprise.

Mortenson isn't a good enough source. Usually it's the draft show that gets the best information because a lot of them work around the guys making the decision.

This is how we know a guy like Trysten Hill will most likely be their pick.
Not they don't unless that are trying to hide whom they really like.

We knew before the Martin draft that Jerry was infatuated with Manziel. It was well reported at the time. Jerry confirmed it after the draft he was bullish and wanted to draft him but was talked out of it by Stephen and the scouts. Same thing about Paxton Lynch. It was reported before the draft the Cowboys and Jerry wanted him and after the draft Jerry admitted that they wanted him and even were close to making a trade with Denver to get up to grab him.

If you honestly think Jerry is tight lipped about this stuff, you just haven't been paying attention.
It wasn't reported before the draft. We only found out later.
