Don't do it, for the love of gosh!!! Tyler Smith and Ferg, you can get the both of them signed for the price of Micah!!! Field phone calls like they're doing for Devante Adams right now!!

I think Dallas will offer Ferg roughly the same deal they offered Schultz. Mid level TE contract. If he doesn't want it, then they got Schoon as a next year fallback.
Almost every long term big deal the Cowboys, and most teams do consist of a minimum base salary(based off # of years but say 1.2mil)+signing bonus proration.

The cap hits in 2025 even if they re-sign Parsons and Smith will be artificially low. They have a 90mil cap hit for Prescott that will.could be restructured. Since his base is 45mil, that's a lot of cap savings in the amount of ~36mil.
CDL also has a high base that can be restructured. They do not need that 23mil to re-sign and be under the cap alone.

Pushing more money into the future, let's just take the hits now and continue to build a weak team, later on we can get back to the glory days!! Schoon, when's the last time you've even heard from that kid, not a fall back plan at all. Moving Hunter to TE full time would be a better option than schoon

Yeah yeah yeah. They need the slices of pie for future guys of their own or whatever.

Davante would cost ~$10m for the rest of this year (depending on when a trade happens) and has no guarantees after this season so they can convert his base to guarantees and drop the cap hit to next to nothing. His cap hit isn't prohibitive of anything.
Only in Dallas to where we never have the money, we never can make the money happen and manipulate things to make things better for us. We just continue to talk about our struggle and leaves, next year it'll be TRUCKS falling from the road!

His base the next 2 years is around 70 mil and a second for a one year rental is crazy

The cap is rising at a stupid rate and players decline faster than expected. Restructuring is a common practice to free up cap to "win now". Unless Prescott gets his leg destroyed next year, restructuring him won't be an issue as he's a "core" player.

For who? Who can you draft that can make the impact of a top 3 pass rusher?
Here we go with the WHO CAN FILL HIS SPOT stuff, same thing we heard about Dak all summer long. Let's not act like Micah was crushing the world to start these first several games. His struggles when needed in big games would be in the back of my mind when thinking of all of this. Big players make big plays, and NO he's not doubled every play before I hear that too!!

He'll never play on those numbers. From a team perspective and a player perspective. Any team that trades for him will rework a deal for 25+. Drop the base cap hits and he can get some guaranteed money.
I think the Raiders never were going to play him on the current contract in 25+. Restructure/cut/traded. And with the Raiders with no QB, and Adams at 32 years old, he's getting moved IMO.

His base is ~$35m each year, but Dallas doesn't acquire the prorated signing bonus cap hit.

They can convert as much of that to guarantees as they want, and drop the cap hit. It's what the Browns did with Amari this year.
