Except all 3 players are still on rookie deals in 2025. Their cap hits won’t be a problem until 2026 and likely 2027 for Tyler Smith. The premise of this post is nonsense.
Cat years“he’s 34 next year.”? He’s 31 right
You can restructure without an extension by converting base salary to guaranteeHe has two years left after this year. Where would you move the money to without an extension? It does just go away. You can convert it but it to bonus but without an extension it’s all due in the 2 years so not much savings if you don’t extend
It comes due in the form of upfront cash. It doesn't have long-term cap effects to restructure like that. It’s not a magic wand. Eventually that bill comes due. And they already have enough deferred payments and coming contracts.
If they couldn't afford Derrick Henry, they certainly can’t afford Adams.
A better offense will have more impact on the defense than any defensive player would.Davante does not fix our Defense.
The problem is games like Saints and Packers where the defense is so bad that it is functionally impossible to get a lead.A better offense will have more impact on the defense than any defensive player would.
DQs defenses got a bunch of sacks and turnovers with a lead - just as they did week 1 - because having a lead is the only way to dictate terms to the opponent.
But it’s still only spread over 2 years. You could make one year cheap but the next would be even higher. There are no voidable years in his contractYou can restructure without an extension by converting base salary to guarantee
Sure, but there is no defensive player you're going to get who changes that. But both games have good examples where poor receiver play made the situation worse. The problem is games like Saints and Packers where the defense is so bad that it is functionally impossible to get a lead.
He’s 34 when the contract he’s under expires“he’s 34 next year.”? He’s 31 right now.
Only way because our defense sucks.A better offense will have more impact on the defense than any defensive player would.

You need some time on the bench, to reflect upon your possible strategies.Pushing more money into the future, let's just take the hits now and continue to build a weak team, later on we can get back to the glory days!! Schoon, when's the last time you've even heard from that kid, not a fall back plan at all. Moving Hunter to TE full time would be a better option than schoon
He had 6 catches on 6 targets 2 weeks ago against the Saints. He’s 34 when the contract he’s under expires
Think replied to wrong person but I do agreeHe had 6 catches on 6 targets 2 weeks ago against the Saints.
When was the last time you seen a second a TE play well in Dallas when the starter was not injured????
Yes, I did. My mistake.Think replied to wrong person but I do agree
I got your point though and agree. We do a nice job of drafting and developing TE. Wish we could do the same at DT lolYes, I did. My mistake.
I wish we could learn how to use 2 TE's in the passing game at the same time, especially with a depleted WR core.I got your point though and agree. We do a nice job of drafting and developing TE. Wish we could do the same at DT lol
That’s required teo very good, athletic TE who can beat safety coverage. And stretch the field. I think we could use it some but I’m not sure the coaching staff can. It would really help the young oline tooI wish we could learn how to use 2 TE's in the passing game at the same time, especially with a depleted WR core.
Bellichick was the only one I have seen do that in recent memory.
