I hate when other teams in our division take our cast offs.

stewart has potential, but he just wasn't ready.

And wade is one of the best D-coordinators of all time. hard to "succeed" with what he was handed.

Hey, but it's not like the Cowboys creamed the Bengals...
That depends on your perspective. Nearly 200 yards rushing in one game is pretty much a signal to me that we out played them physically and to me that is a beat down. So is answering a score with a long scoring drive to cap the scoring.

But that's just me.

Stewart couldnt tell them anything about our team they dont know about, plus he wont be there for our offseason and TC's so he wont know the personnel, training, and what we will be executing this year.

Geoff Mosher of the News Journal reports the Eagles are ready to add former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Brian Stewart to their staff, according to a team source.

Stewart hasn't officially signed a contract yet but was in Philadelphia and is expected to sign sometime this week, the source said. The Eagles begin full-squad minicamp Tuesday.

The Eagles haven't issued an official announcement and probably won't until Stewart is officially inked.

Even while Johnson is away on an indefinite leave of absence to continue treatment for melanoma, the team has publicly maintained optimism that their longtime defensive coordinator would be able to return for the 2009 season.

The signing of Stewart suggests otherwise.

It's unclear what job Stewart will assume, but his background is the secondary. He coached defensive backs in San Diego and Houston before joining the Cowboys as defensive coordinator in 2007.

The Eagles promoted secondary coach Sean McDermott to interim defensive coordinator while Johnson is away, so it would make sense for the team to bring in someone with Stewart's background.

Stewart quickly became the Cowboys' fall guy when Dallas -- a preseason Super Bowl favorite -- stumbled after starting the season 4-1 and limped into their bye week with a 5-4 mark.

Man I wish you wouldn't italicize your posts. It makes them harder to read. You don't need a gimmick to get noticed.

I'm not looking for a "gimmick" or to be noticed, I'm an ex football coach who knows the game , and posting that way because the post looks neat in Italics.

But no big deal, I won't anymore.

Hope that helps !

Eagles Announce Arrival Of Brian Stewart

Posted by Mike Florio on June 1, 2009, 1:18 p.m.

As previously reported by ESPN.com and WFAA-TV, former Cowboys defensive coordinator Brian Stewart has landed in Philadelphia.
The Eagles announced earlier today that Stewart has been hired to serve as a special assistant to the defense.

Stewart will work primarily with the secondary. Defensive backs coach Sean McDermott currently is serving as defensive coordinator during Jim Johnson’s leave of absence for cancer treatment.

“Brian Stewart brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our football club,” Eagles head coach Andy Reid said in a release. “He especially has a good understanding of the NFC East acquired during his time with the Cowboys. He’ll be a nice addition to our coaching staff.”

Though it’s good news for the Eagles and for Stewart, the move could be interpreted as a signal that Johnson might be out of action for a while. We hope that this isn’t the case, and that he’ll be back with the team as soon as possible.

Fired by the Cowboys after the 2008 season, Stewart previously worked for the Chargers and Texans. He spent a decade coaching at various colleges before coming to the NFL.

didn't brian stewart already take a job with that expansion league thing?

I thought he was going to be the DC and denny green was going to be the head coach? Was that a gag thread?
