In all seriousness if you really want to get into the most overrated team in the history of the NFL I am going to have to go with the 2000 Commanders.

That was they ear they signed Bruse Smith, Deoin Sanders, Irving Fryan, jay Leuwenburg et al and Danny Boy thought he could buy a championship. The ESPN analysts were all over that teams sack and they went on to go 8-8 and miss the playoffs.

See Commanders fans havent figured out is that as much money Mr Jones has spent it was for keeping his team together. The only people we have brought in are Pacman Jones, Zach Thomas and draft picks. We bring back the same offensive line, 6 out of the original 7 front 7 and the like. We arent trying to overhaul the team to try and become winners were bringing back the same winning team for another run and augmented it a bit.

Perhaps Dannyboy and his cronies should take notes.

Ok but the Commanders can say they won those 2 SB's. Whether or not it happened in a strike shortened season, they still had 27 other teams that could have beaten them, and they ended the season at the top.

Yes we have done it more, but you can't take away there SB wins, just because it happened in a strike season

You also can't take away the fact that the Commanders can 'boast' of winning three out of five Super Bowl appearances, two of which came via strike shortened seasons--while the Cowboys can boast of five Super Bowl victories in eight appearances without a work stoppage influencing rosters, victories, etc.

Second, our offensive line isnt that bad, I do agree with you somewhat about our run blocking, thats why Hudson was hired, since he is great at run blocking. Next, when you have 3 pro bowlers go to the pro bowl, they must be doing something right. Now, here is where you are going to have to really eat your words. True, Ware is our best player on defense, but like one guy pointed out Newman is our 2nd best player at cornerback. However, you had better be ready to eat some of your words to these players, Tank Johnson, whom will be a beast this year. Then add in Greg Ellis whom didnt play in 4 games last year, and still got 12 1/2 sacks. Then add in young linebacker Anthony Spencer, whom will get better after his rookie year. Now to our secondary, we have a few big surprises for you on defense, I am not going to tell you what it is, so you can go blab to the Commanders, but you had better be ready to eat some crow. Now add in Adam Jones whom a great cornerback that has ever played the game, Deion Sanders said, wow, his feet are that quick and fast, unbelievable, this guy can be the best there is. That will only push Newman to play better. Finally we have Mike Jenkins whom has all of the top star cornerback abilities in the world, he is even faster than your carlos rogers. Next, we have another corner that can play too in a young Orlando Scandrick, he has a few surprises for you too.

Finally we have a few more surprises for you, but again I am not going to tell you what it is, so you can go blab to your team what we have in store for you. Just be ready bud, to eat some crow this year.

Well, I was going to start a serious thread on a subject similar to this.

I was watching NFLN (NOT in HD...on my new HDTV...stupid DirectTV service dept) and Terrell Davis just said he has us "penned" in for the Super Bowl.

Seems like we're the team to pick this offseason.

For good reason.

Is there really a team that can match us talent-wise in the NFC?

We have a good QB, RB, TE, OL, WR, K---DL, LB, DBs, P...our only weak spots are associated with depth.

The Giants are close to us talent-wise....we're still more explosive (and our QB play is a bit more consistent).

The Packers and Vikings both have nice teams, but their QB situations are shaky.

No team in the NFC South worries me.

The Seahawks are solid....but not the team they were.
