There’s a real chance of Hurts having a better season than Dak. That would be the final nail in the coffin.

Yes, he's the most pivotal non-Cowboy to our season. I'd put Wentz in the 2nd spot.

Cooper and Wilson last season are better the CeeDee and Gallup this year? Highly doubtful. Do you Eagles lovers think they have a better coaching staff too?
Um yes. I’d rather take a full season of a healthy Wilson over Gallup. And Cee Dee is a complete mystery as a #1 compared to Coop

You think what you want and I'll think what I want. I'm not going to change your mind just like you're not going to change mine.

You seem to be under this impression that Hurts can't possibly get better after 19 career starts, that's fine, but I don't buy into that at all. You also have this mindset that says "if we won by 20 last season against the Eagles we're guaranteed to win next season" thinking that I don't subscribe too.

The fact of the matter is, on paper, the Eagles have gotten better and we've gotten worse. We'll see how that plays out on the field.
Again. I never said that. I said. Those 3 players you named didnt impact the first game. So losing them in theory doesnt mean anything lol. Why do you keep putting words in my mouth? I never once said because we beat them by 20 we will do it again.

You're implying that because we beat a team by a fair amount a year ago that we're clearly still the better team a year later.

That's foolish.

What us and the Eagles did last year has zero baring on what happens when we play them this season.

I also think the eagles are vastly improved but let’s not get Crazy here. Dallas absolutely curb stomped them in their first meeting last season and they were pretty healthy. I don’t see how adding AJ brown is a 30 point swing.

I mean you literally said "I don't see how adding AJ Brown is a 30 point swing"... What are you trying to say there then? You're acting as if it's going to be the exact same game, except the Eagles have AJ Brown and he's not worth 30 points. Why would they need a 30 point swing to begin with unless you expect the same game?

Not much of a stretch to think this team with the talent hits it’s had will struggle to beat a much improved Philly team if Dak plays the way he did in the second half of 2021.

He never plays that way against the nfce ...... And we have a better defense ...... Only two positions they are better than us at are tightend and number one WR and both of those are debatable by stats.

But hey ..... Go on and put all your money on those eagles ....

Yes. Wilson isn’t guaranteed to miss part of the season due to ACL recovery and we’ll see how CeeDee does as a #1. I think it will be better than 2018 but he’s yet to show he’s dominant against a teams best CB

You like Dallas’ DL better than Philly? And the CBs?

I'm just curious.

If Hurts has a great season and the Eagles easily win the division while Dak is average and the Cowboys hover around .500 what will the narrative be?

The narrative SHOULD be the FO didn’t give Dak enough help. The narrative WILL be that Sean Payton can fix anything (even though he’s the same as McCarthy)

I've followed Hurts since college. I like his leadership, moxie and calmness under pressure.

But Hurts is not going to get better as a throwing quarterback.
When Tua took over, the Bama wide receivers rejoiced. Hurts simply was not accurate and couldn't hit receivers in stride or anticipate where open receivers would be. Tua took over and Bama began to win with offensive explosion. (Tua has his weaknesses, but that's for another discussion.)

Hurts looked like he got better when he went to Oklahoma, but when needed, he still couldn't throw the ball the way an elite quarterback should.

Sadly, it is difficult to become an efficient and elite passing quarterback if you haven't develop that in college. Dak tried to do it, and while he got better, he's not an elite passer. But he's better than Hurts, who uses his legs more.

And that's going to be the difference between Dak and Hurts. Hurts has more weapons, but he's going to need to rely on a running game as well as run the ball on his own. If Philly gets behind and needs Hurts to bail them out, they're done.

I find it interesting that Mike McCarthy wants Dak to run more this year. That's, basically, an insult, i.e., we don't think you can lead this team by your arm alone. You need to run the ball more.

As I see it, Philly and Dallas are virtually the same teams - offensively speaking. Even though Dak is a better thrower, I think both he and Hurts need to be protected by a running game. Whichever one gets better help from the running game (whether by who's in the backfield or how they use their own legs) is the team that will take the NFC East division.
