Most pivotal player to Cowboys 2022 season is Jalen Hurts?

The Eagles have done some nice upgrades this offseason and built a very well rounded team. The only edge besides RB that most agree Dallas has is the all important one of QB.

Year 3 will be pivotal for Hurts who knows the Eagles have enough draft capital to trade up next year and take a QB if he fails. He also will have no excuse about the talent around him.

If he plays even above average for around 3500 yards and 25 TDs - 10 INTs, the Eagles may walk over Dallas. That would be a substantial improvement from last years 3100 yards, 16 TD and 9 INT.

Now if Dak plays at the level he did the first 2 months of 2021 it would be a wash but aside from Dak being an MVP (how realistic is that to ask any QB not Rodgers or Mahomes) Philthy is set up much better as a whole team than Dallas if they just get above average play from Hurts
A very fair and astute evaluation of the upcoming season.
Dallas has taken a step back talent wise this year.
They lost Cooper, Randy,, Collins, , for not much.
The Eagles on the other hand loaded up with a stud wideout and some premium draft picks.
I could see the Eagles passing the boys easily.

Huh? Your take is very off base...the Cowboys had the top offense last year and an upcoming defense with a fantastic turnover differential....they walked all over the Eagles.

While the eagles added some good pieces in the offseason, to say that they flipped the talent that much is silly. The gap has closed but your take sounds more like an eagles fan than anything honestly....even the most negative views here see that our team is at the least on par with Philly and that's not with making the statement that dak has to play at an mvp level just to think about closing the gap
In the game in Philly last year Wilson and Cooper combined for 10 catches for 198 yards and 2 TD. That’s a lot of production missing for it to be another cakewalk.

Dallas’ talent has no question gotten worse while Phillys has gotten better. The gap would just shrink if one team stayed the same and the other got better. In this case they’re near equal.

Take out QB, RB and Punter and tell me what position groups Dallas is definitely better in. It’s very hard to win when outmanned in 7 of 10 position groups unless your QB is Rodgers/Mahomes

Eagles may walk over Dallas lololol. What a stupid comment. We beat those clowns by 50 last year. Stop the madness.

Egals look good on paper, period. The notion that the window is tightening for the Cowboys to win immediately isn't pure veritas.

So long as Parsons, Lamb, & Diggs are playing at high levels, it should be enough of a boost to add to what Dak, Zeke & Tony already do to keep Dallas in the hunt.

Dallas has owned Philly since their one & only Lombardi!

So you think Jalen hurts all of a sudden becomes a 20 point swing? The Cowboys dominated the Eagles in the first game of the season last year. In literally every facet of the game and Parsons hadn't even become Parsons at that point.

Cooper had 3 catches for 26 yards and no touchdowns, Wilson had 2 catches for 17 yards and a touchdown, and Collins didn't even play due to his suspension.

So the three players you listed did almost nothing to help the team to a win. Statistically at least. Dak threw 3 touchdowns and went for 238 yards on 26 attempts. Zeke had 95 yards and 2 touchdowns.

I am not bringing up the second game against the eagles because the Cowboys played their water boy and equipment managers but to say that the Eagles all of a sudden are now some amazing team that the Cowboys should fear because they added AJ Brown is asinine and you know it. You are simply using this thread as yet another way to talk about Dak in a negative way which is fine, that's kind of who you are now and he deserves it after his second half last season but come on.

I also think the Eagles did a lot and became better. But that's on paper. The games aren't played on paper. And for some reason when the Eagles are on the card this team steps it up at least since 2016.
I believe using the "we beat them last year so we're guaranteed to beat them next year" method is incredible foolish.

Why even play the games with that logic?

Maybe we beat the breaks off them next season, maybe not, but on paper they've gotten better and we've gotten worse.

Also, think that Hurts, who has 19 career starts, can't come out next season and be much improved is wishful thinking. He has a lot of talent around him, on paper, so we could see him take a big leap.

Cowboys fans have watched great talent carry Dak for the past 6 years. Who's to say that can't happen with Hurts? Hurts might have been living in pre-Cooper 2018 Cowboys land for the past 19 games. Maybe AJ Brown will be his Amari Cooper.

Dallas has a better secondary and linebackers then the Eagles. The offensive lines and defensive lines are closer the fans want to believe especially if DLaw and Tyron healthy. When Gallup get healthy I would take CeeDee, Gallup and Shultz over Smith, Brown and Godeort. Let’s stop overrating their rookies and underestimating ours.

No I was pointing out the players you brought up. And how what they contributed. That's all. Every game is different, every season is different. That's just common sense. I was merely pointing out the 3 guys you listed.

LOL. Enough with the "Great talent carried Dak" BS as well. Cooper was struggling in Oakland before the Cowboys traded for him and all of a sudden he went on a tear. Now how is that possible? Carr is better than Dak right? I guess it must have just been the water in Arlington. Not the QB change. These are the things that make 0 sense when you say them and the reason I get into it with you. You make claims that are false sound like they are factual.

Dak is supposed to now apologize for having great talent around him? lol. No QB with no talent wins anything in the NFL. Go ask Trevor Lawrence. Go ask Carson Wentz before the Eagles made moves to help him. Lets see how Patrick do no wrong Mahomes looks this year without Hill.

Dak isnt the best by any means, but he is an important part of this offense and he isn't going anywhere so complaining in every single thread about him is useless. Dak has also elevated this team at times. Not consistently but at times.

In the history of the NFL I can remember maybe 2 QBs that won it all with lesser talent. Kurt Warner had arguably one of the greatest offenses EVER. Guess he was only as good as the talent around him right?

It is the year round typical Eagles suckage on this place. They are ALWAYS better than us according to many.
The NFL does it also. Eagles always win the off-season.
Lots of Eagles fans on the board. Don’t let Washington or the Giants get off to a good start, then you will see another group of board members start posting. I believe there are more NFC East fans then Cowboys fans on the board.

I am talking about the game where Philly played their starters. As i said. In my post. Game 2 was a joke and was used to help players get some franchise records. I wont use that as a gauge. Ill use the game when both teams played their starting players. And in that game. Those 2 players combined for under 100 yards and a touchdown.

You think what you want and I'll think what I want. I'm not going to change your mind just like you're not going to change mine.

You seem to be under this impression that Hurts can't possibly get better after 19 career starts, that's fine, but I don't buy into that at all. You also have this mindset that says "if we won by 20 last season against the Eagles we're guaranteed to win next season" thinking that I don't subscribe too.

The fact of the matter is, on paper, the Eagles have gotten better and we've gotten worse. We'll see how that plays out on the field.

Stop it. That's nonsense. Not only is Philly better in all of those areas but their depth is also much better.

Hurts suuuuuuucks. Wow I can't believe even ONE person would speak highly of him. Quincy Carter, EJ Manuel, Tavaris Jackson, Jalen Hurts.

As one of Dak’s biggest critic on this forum, Hurts is awful. Even to me, it’s insulting to Dak to compare the two.

Until Hurts proves he can beat teams with his arm, not scared of the Eagles what so ever.
