Bill Stratton, Lawton, Okla.: Why won't Dallas do what it takes to move up and draft Adrian Peterson? He is a potential franchise back.
Mickey: Sure he is, but I'm guessing he's going among the top 10 picks, maybe the top five. According to the draft day trade chart, the difference between the 22nd pick and say, the eighth pick, is 620 points. That is the equivalent of the 30th pick in the first round, which means you would have to give up at least two first-round picks to move up high enough to get to No. 8 - or your first, second and third. And if you have to get to number five, then that's a 1,000-point difference or the 16th pick in the first round. That's pretty steep, this year's first and next year's first, at least. Or this year's first, second, third, fourth and fifth. Is Peterson that good?

I don't see that as too steep for Peterson or Johnson. Dallas will be 22nd or worse next year and two of those types don't equate one franchise player.
