My 9-4 thoughts

Dez and others were wide open all night but romo kept missing them

I share the concern about Dez apparent inability to dominate more consistently given the $ it will take to retain him. He is GREAT value at what we're currently paying him. If he's making $12 M per year average? Yeah, I'm concerned whether its worth it.

Agree as well about the appreciation for Murray and the O-line.

Appreciate Witten for as long as we can. Why are people so anxious to call this guy over the hill?

Obviously the defense is far from a finished product. If people thought otherwise they were kidding themselves. Gonna take more talent and more time.

Tony missed Dez on at least two occasions we know of where he was WIDE open. I'll bet there was a few more when you put on the all-22. If there is a concern on offense it's the QB not #88. They need Romo to be more than a bus driver when they play good defenses.

I'm by far not a romo fan but he has been spectacular this yr. I think they could win a game Without Dez this yr. they can't beat the raiders without romo. There should be no concern on romos game. At all

Thats cause we have Weeden at backup. Possibly the worst QB in the entire universe.

Did I call him or his play the past few games marginal? There's a big difference. Do you know the difference?

lol really LM does it matter? You still called him marginal. Spin Spin Spin. If you don't want him on the team say it. Stop dancing around it

Latin, I love Romo too. But he's missing guys. On the long pass to Dez, he under threw him and should have delivered the ball quicker. That would have been a TD.

I hope he doesn't expect the o-line to constantly give him good protection. Other QBs are getting that ball out quicker.

I've made a couple wallpapers for Dez and one of them he posted on his twitter. That can be downloaded on my deviantart. I'm a huge fan of his. I just think this whole contract thing is in his head. And I think it's affecting his play. I don't think Dallas should pay cz money for him tho. And I don't dance around words I say what's on my mind.

I agree he could've gotten it out quicker. But romo regularly has done that this yr. but this teams wrs are really burning off the snap and beating coverages regularly either. Team lacks speed on offense.

Didn't Dez put together back-to-back 2-touchdown games after joining Roc Nation? And while held without a TD the last two games, he's averaged nearly 80 yards per game in those. And he did it in today's game with Romo attempting one fourth-quarter pass -- yet he still managed eight catches.

I have my concerns about giving Dez -- or anyone, for that matter -- a $14 million-per-year contract. I think it's hard for any non-quarterback to live up to that kind of money. You've seen it with Tyron Smith this year. You get that contract as a left tackle and fans expect you to never give up a sack for the rest of your career. Every folly is met with, "What's wrong with Tyron?"

You're absolutely right on DeMarco being the heartbeat of this team. In my opinion, the 2014 Cowboys are at their best somewhat emulating the mid-90s version of the Cowboys. Pass the ball 28 times, run the ball 25 times one week; throw it 26 times and run it 29 times the next. Somewhere in that neighborhood is when we're most dangerous.

Murray is a fantastic player. He's a good option in the passing game, he's good at picking up blitzes and he's obviously good at carrying the rock. Yeah, Peterson is the better player, and Charles is too, probably. But Murray is undeniably a premier back in this league in his own right.

Romo was 21-26 (80%) with 3 TDs. What more do you want?

Yep and no interceptions. Can't ask for much more. I do think he should look for Dez more, though.

P.S. That play where he escaped from the defender then threw the controversial TD to Cole Beasley was really encouraging. He could've laid down like previous games, but he decided to make a play. I hope that's a sign that he's getting some of his moxie back.

just when Dez is open you throw him the ball - you don't throw it up and hope Dez can get it - like that one deep pass to Dez

Well LM this is kinda funny. Your getting a lot of static for your efforts.
Your efforts on this board are much appreciated by all of us.
I know the posters that are disagreeing with you appreciate your post also.
Very healthy exchanges.
