Did I call him or his play the past few games marginal? There's a big difference. Do you know the difference?

I doubt it, the hypersensitivity people here have toward certain players is bewildering, you'd think you were insulting their mothers or something. Its a wonder they've made it this far in life with such thin skin. I just hope management doesn't look at our players with rose colored glasses and can set aside emotion to accurately and honestly evaluate all players

Dez is one of the top 5 wr's in the league. Scandrick is a 3rd corner on an average NFL defense.
However, I do agree with you on your assessment of Murray. He doesn't have a top gear to shift into. We've seen this all year. Still doesn't take away from his accomplishments this year. It just means the Cows can find a better back to plug into the starter role without overpaying for DeMarco.

Emmit Smith didn't have a top gear either

He was fast enough to outrun an NFL defense when the opening was there, on occasion.

I get it that we may go after another guy price being too stout
but Murrays times are fine and no reason for a change.

over 1600 yds even with our OL is still kinda good

I'm gonna start this off with Dez Bryant. I know saying anything other then he's the best is unpopular around here but he's not. I'm wondering if he is stuck on his contract talks that are coming up which he said he wouldn't think bout until the offseason. He's been marginal since all the fuss was made by him after signing with roc nation. I think he just needs to get his head back to just playing. He's not getting open and is spending more time fighting with coaches then trying to help out his qb on the field. Guy is a freak but he needs to be more then that.

Murray is the MVP this yr in my book, but that award needs to go to this OL and I'm being 100%serious. You put AP or Jamal Charles behind this OL and they destroy the record books. I'm thankful every week though to know Murray is running the ball for the Cowboys. I just don't think he will be running it for Dallas next yr. last time somebody was used this much by a team in a single yr was Larry Johnson and his career was over a few years later but never had the same kind of yr again. It takes it's toll.

Dallas really lacks speed at the wr spot. TW is serviceable but he is not a guy who is going to scare anybody. Dallas needs to work Beasley in but I think they don't trust his ability to take a hit. People compare him to other small wrs but guys like welker are bigger. Amendola took the hits and was broken every yr. Look what's happened to desean Jackson. I think Dallas needs to find that we who has the speed to stretch the field.

Love Witten but I think he istaking away from the team being able to groom his replacement. Witten is still mr reliable but teams are able to take him out of the gameplay more with leers where before that was an automatic first down. Think Escobar needs more snaps during the game. He adds a speed factor that Witten can't. You're never going to know what you have in a player until you let him play.

People are going to say this defense was garbage this game. The bears just got lucky with some desperation garbage Time plays. And that turn momentum. But Dallas took away the outside and allowed the bears to dink and dunk in the middle and they ate up their own clock. Teams did this to Dallas all last yr in the fourth quarter. And the ending was the same as it was tonight. Game ending int. how many time did we see that happen to romo last yr.

Orlando Scandrick is turning into a top tier cb in this league. That 5yr 25 mil deal Jerry gave him a few years ago seems like pure genius now,Barry Church is playing for 2mil that's robbery. Bruce Carter is one of my favorites but is time is over in Dallas. That brings sadness to me. But I think he will hook up with a 3-4 team next yr become one of the better leers in the nfl. Just seems better suited to play inside in that 3-4.

I'm wondering why Dallas won't try Lawrence on the weak side and slide mincey over to the strong side. Is not like spencer or selvie are giving Dallas anything at all. Crawford is starting to come in his own. But he still doesn't have the ability to get sacks, or isn't aware of his surroundings because he's always around the qb but is always just there not really going after the qb. It's just weird.

Dallas is made for these cold games. And it's going to be cold in Philly. Maybe you folks can enjoy this win and take a break from everything is doomed. Enjoy the win and wait for the next.

Did we lose last night???

Well LM this is kinda funny. Your getting a lot of static for your efforts.
Your efforts on this board are much appreciated by all of us.
I know the posters that are disagreeing with you appreciate your post also.
Very healthy exchanges.

I was politely staying out of it because of the old 'if you don't have much nice to say..' thing. But I do appreciate LM's efforts and enjoy reading his opinions after the game.

I do agree with him re: the defense, overall, and our speed at WR.

Spencer had probably his best game of the season tonight, though, and not just considering his strip/fumble.

I completely disagree with the OP about Dez. The only issue I have with Dez is that we don't run more slants and drags and let Dez play to his strength. The guy is a beast at YAC but we mostly have him running medium to deep routes.

I agree with the OP about Witten and speed at WR. I love what Jason Witten has done, but at some point, the guys playing behind him need that chance to play. Father time is closing in on Witten. Quit drafting TE's early if you plan on sticking with Witten in the future.

At WR, TWill has been a ghost for over a month now. We desperately need a WR that can make opposing defenses fear the deep ball. That would only open things up more for Dez and company.

The player I don't understand is Bruce Carter. I don't know is he has some sort of ADD, or he doesn't know his assignments or he is just plain lazy. For a player with his physical traits, he really disappears during games. He also can't seem to cover anyone in the open field. I really thought he was going to be a great linebacker for us, but he most likely will be gone after this year. He is a total mystery to me.

I have to be able to have Jerry's ear for my thoughts to be labeled an agenda. Wish you people would stop using that word. They're my thoughts. I'm not trying to sway anybody's mind in here. I just don't see him playing like he was earlier in the yr.

Good write up, LM. You're one of the few reasons I come on this board to begin with.

I'm happy with the win but that 4th quarter left a sour taste in my mouth.

Agreed. We need to put teams away and not give teams life. This was so reminiscent of last years Green Bay and Detroit games. Your up 28 points and it turns into a nailbiter?

Marinelli has got to stop playing not to lose....because this team just isn't gonna have 28pt leads to blow in the coming weeks. All prevent Defenses do... is prevent you from winning. You would think a Def Coordinator w/ his much experience would know this....

Not really. Smith was slower than Murray.
He played a lot faster than Murray though.

I think it's a different league now and it's much harder to break off those long runs b/c defenses are all a lot faster. But Murray never looks like he hits top speed.

I tend to agree with this, for the most part. As great as Witten has been, at this point, he just isn't athletic enough to be a great threat. It seems like he can't catch anything that doesn't hit him in the chest and it seems like it is taking him FOREVER to get open. Esco has a much better chance at catching the ball that went off of Witten's fingers.

It's damn near impossible to say give some of Witt's snaps to Esco, but in the passing game, I think Esco needs to be more of a focus than Witten more than he is.

Tw is playing and has been playing with a broken finger. And Beasley will be back to his minimal 1 catch next week. They both could replaced by somebody else next yr for all I care. Tw is by far the better we tho. Tw has more tds this yr then Beasley has in his career.

Yah but you gotta see that beasley bring somthing to the table that TW dosent, i love me some Twill and Beastly but both are diff and none comparable

just when Dez is open you throw him the ball - you don't throw it up and hope Dez can get it - like that one deep pass to Dez
Dez had the safety beat on that long throw. With a QB that has a stronger arm, that's a TD. Not knocking Romo there, arm strength has never been Romo's forte.
