Totally with you. I grew up watching Emmitt. For a slow 40 time as a RB, he took plenty of runs the distance. Last night alone, Murray had at least 2 or 3 one on one opportunities to go the distance, each time he got stopped.

I love the season Murray is having, but he lacks that last gear. I could care less what his 40 time is.

I would pay Dez and let Murray walk. With the OL we have, we can make due drafting a RB in rounds 2-4.

My only knock on DM29 is his vision. He leaves yardage on the field. He probably should have over 1,800 yards already (crazy, I know).

All that said, this offense goes as he goes. He's the engine. He's the only 3-down RB we have. And we know that our offense is protecting our erratic defense.

I wouldn't be so quick to let him walk. It will be hard to replace everything he does for this team with a draft pick and presumably Randle as your lead backs.

His sideways and backwards runs cost him about 60 yards the other night.

He is the man for us this year, but if you had a healthy AP behind this line he'd probably get to 2500 yards and I'm not joking. There have been so many times where Murray had a wide open running lane and only a safety to beat. He usually runs into the guy where AP would put it in 6th gear and blow by him.

Not knocking Murray he has been our bell cow. But it's this Oline that is the key.

Agreed. AP behind this OL? It would be over - and I'm a big DM29 fan.

AP was a beast when HE was the loan weapon for Minnesota behind a weak OL. Imagine him running behind a great OL and being flanked with other weapons around him like Dez? Drool.

Would we be hypothetically paying the same for him next year as we would Murray?

Not sure. I'm thinking due to the drama surrounding AP, his true value will plummet - making him more affordable than DM29. Don't know what his asking price will be though.
