I'm gonna start this off with Dez Bryant. I know saying anything other then he's the best is unpopular around here but he's not. I'm wondering if he is stuck on his contract talks that are coming up which he said he wouldn't think bout until the offseason. He's been marginal since all the fuss was made by him after signing with roc nation. I think he just needs to get his head back to just playing. He's not getting open and is spending more time fighting with coaches then trying to help out his qb on the field. Guy is a freak but he needs to be more then that.

Murray is the MVP this yr in my book, but that award needs to go to this OL and I'm being 100%serious. You put AP or Jamal Charles behind this OL and they destroy the record books. I'm thankful every week though to know Murray is running the ball for the Cowboys. I just don't think he will be running it for Dallas next yr. last time somebody was used this much by a team in a single yr was Larry Johnson and his career was over a few years later but never had the same kind of yr again. It takes it's toll.

Dallas really lacks speed at the wr spot. TW is serviceable but he is not a guy who is going to scare anybody. Dallas needs to work Beasley in but I think they don't trust his ability to take a hit. People compare him to other small wrs but guys like welker are bigger. Amendola took the hits and was broken every yr. Look what's happened to desean Jackson. I think Dallas needs to find that we who has the speed to stretch the field.

Love Witten but I think he istaking away from the team being able to groom his replacement. Witten is still mr reliable but teams are able to take him out of the gameplay more with leers where before that was an automatic first down. Think Escobar needs more snaps during the game. He adds a speed factor that Witten can't. You're never going to know what you have in a player until you let him play.

People are going to say this defense was garbage this game. The bears just got lucky with some desperation garbage Time plays. And that turn momentum. But Dallas took away the outside and allowed the bears to dink and dunk in the middle and they ate up their own clock. Teams did this to Dallas all last yr in the fourth quarter. And the ending was the same as it was tonight. Game ending int. how many time did we see that happen to romo last yr.

Orlando Scandrick is turning into a top tier cb in this league. That 5yr 25 mil deal Jerry gave him a few years ago seems like pure genius now,Barry Church is playing for 2mil that's robbery. Bruce Carter is one of my favorites but is time is over in Dallas. That brings sadness to me. But I think he will hook up with a 3-4 team next yr become one of the better leers in the nfl. Just seems better suited to play inside in that 3-4.

I'm wondering why Dallas won't try Lawrence on the weak side and slide mincey over to the strong side. Is not like spencer or selvie are giving Dallas anything at all. Crawford is starting to come in his own. But he still doesn't have the ability to get sacks, or isn't aware of his surroundings because he's always around the qb but is always just there not really going after the qb. It's just weird.

Dallas is made for these cold games. And it's going to be cold in Philly. Maybe you folks can enjoy this win and take a break from everything is doomed. Enjoy the win and wait for the next.

Good write up, pretty spot on.

The player I don't understand is Bruce Carter. I don't know is he has some sort of ADD, or he doesn't know his assignments or he is just plain lazy. For a player with his physical traits, he really disappears during games. He also can't seem to cover anyone in the open field. I really thought he was going to be a great linebacker for us, but he most likely will be gone after this year. He is a total mystery to me.

Totally agree on this one. Before he got hurt, he looked really, really good. Now, I don't know what is wrong with him.

lol is right.

2013 thru 3 qts
Romo 93.7
Smith 66.8

Thanks.
I kind of bit my lip there but knew it was coming in some form. LM just can't help himself.
He cannot go a single thread without some kind of jab at Romo.
It's gotten to be beyond pathetic. And it SO very factually incorrect.

If he'd just to stick to his normal train of thought and not let the hate out of the bag for no reason whatsoever, these threads would more enjoyable.
Nevertheless, I appreciate his effort san the needless Romo crap.

Latin, I love Romo too. But he's missing guys. On the long pass to Dez, he under threw him and should have delivered the ball quicker. That would have been a TD.

I hope he doesn't expect the o-line to constantly give him good protection. Other QBs are getting that ball out quicker.

He had 5 incompletions. Lets not forget he is dealing with 2 broken bones in his back and taking shots just to play with pain.

He played a lot faster than Murray though.

I think it's a different league now and it's much harder to break off those long runs b/c defenses are all a lot faster. But Murray never looks like he hits top speed.

Totally with you. I grew up watching Emmitt. For a slow 40 time as a RB, he took plenty of runs the distance. Last night alone, Murray had at least 2 or 3 one on one opportunities to go the distance, each time he got stopped.

I love the season Murray is having, but he lacks that last gear. I could care less what his 40 time is.

I would pay Dez and let Murray walk. With the OL we have, we can make due drafting a RB in rounds 2-4.

Romo was 21-26 (80%) with 3 TDs. What more do you want?

I thought he was good but he missed a few big opportunities. We just learned he might have a broken rib on top of the other stuff though so I retract what I said. Maybe he is having difficulty making certain throws.

Dez does not receive deep ball opportunities like the other prime receivers. Think about that. He had one last night and had to wait a few seconds for it;) On top of defenses knowing the deep ball is not a threat due to Romo's back health/scheme=he still has even 8 man fronts bracketed over him. He isn't used in bunch formations or shade routes to break coverage (Scheme?). Yet, he still puts up these numbers while having a running threat that could break 2,000 for the starting back. Could you imagine Dez with Brees, Rodgers, Manning, Brady? And I am a healthy Romo fan:D

The dez comments are crap by the OP. Best player we got And a leader on this team. He spends all his energy trying to get open for tony. You don't know what he's saying on the sidelines so shut up. Take him for what he is. Don't try to change him. If you can't handle it, that's on you. Every team needs a couple guys like dez. If not for dez, this team would not have a sense of urgency. If he had a coach that could fully utilize him, he would put up even better numbers. The receivers are fine, the offensive system is not. Don't blame receivers. Scandrick is not top tier. He is good. But not even top ten, like you want ppl to believe. He's a decent number 2 corner or good nickel but that's it. The defense is horrible and needs pass rush. That has to be addressed in the offseason. Marinelli better find a way to get his defense off the field. Murray grinds out yards. His vision is not elite. His balance is not elite. Ryan williams and randle have those intangibles imo. Murray runs into blocked defenders. But this zone blocking scheme is perfect for him. He will never be a guy that can take it 50 plus yards and make guys miss. He hits the hole hard and defenders get tired of tackling him. He can pass block and catch the ball and run with it. The majority of credit goes to that OL and zone blocking scheme.

This was a good win that we had to have, but chicago is NOT a good team at all. Dallas still has a lot to prove.

I agree with all of that. I just think he's a little distracted with the business side. Really don't like seeing him scream at coaches. That's a lot of disrespect.

Tied for 3rd amongst WR's with 10 TD's. 12th in 20+ yard grabs while playing with what may end up a record breaking rushing team. Still only 10th in targets. 48 more yards and he'll have a 1,000. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Dez is a monster.

these stats were pre bears game as well so....

I'm by far not a romo fan but he has been spectacular this yr. I think they could win a game Without Dez this yr. they can't beat the raiders without romo. There should be no concern on romos game. At all

Take Dez out, who do they cover? Twill? Bease? Witten? A lot of people dont realize if you take Dez out of the equation, Murray wouldnt even be close to the yards he has.

Dez Bryant hate again after 6 for 82 when the running back took the ball 40 times.

This is the same thing as saying Murray sucks when he got 10 carries last year and Bryant goes for 140.
