After that drop he was invisible to Romo. He didn't even look his way the rest of the game.

I like the way Romo is dealing with it too. That blatant pop warner dropsie **** is not funny at all. Romo knows it and he just mentally checks Roy out when Roy decides to forget he is an NFL WR. Hopefully Romo will not have to deal with this bull**** next year.

The problem is the timing of the drops. Miles had a drop against the Skins too, but it was on a 1st down play if I recall, so you can just come back and make another play. The last couple big drops Roy has had have come on 3rd downs, and those are the ones everybody is going to remember, because you're killing a drive.

If he doesn't get it together, he's really going to hurt us in the playoffs because Tony will just not throw it to him, and at that point we may as well be playing 10 guys on offense.

Yes. Austin also drops passes sometimes. But he also catches a lot of passes. Austin may drop one and catch 10+ for 100+ yards.

Roy drops like 1/3 of the passes thrown his way... And he does it at the worst possible time...

His attitude disgusts me. I would rather have TO. At least he forces other teams' DC to gameplan for him and open up Witten

I have friends that are fans of teams in the Lions division.

Every single one said Roy was an underrated WR that could play with the best of them.

They watched a hell of a lot more of Roy than any of us.

Tony has had an issue with Roy from day one, it's been obvious. If it isn't obvious then you need to go back in time and pay attention.

That's not all on Roy, and especially not cause he dropped a ball in the Commanders game.

lmao @ 3rd string, you guys are ridiculous sometimes.

well then you are just blind then, sorry if the truth hurts. I really don't mean to offend your brother, but just speaking the truth.

Austin is way better than Roy Williams, and we have enough of Roy's level of competition in Crayton, Hurd, and Ogletree. I am not saying he is not worth having on the field considering how much money we wasted on him, just that his talent does not match that investment.

I do look for the Cowboys to address our need for better talent at that #2 spot.

And ultimately, it really doesn't matter if it is both Romo and Roy's fault equally because atleast EVERYONE else can catch Romo's passes so RW will be odd man out if that is a problem for "both of them eqaully"

That being said, RW doesn't seem to have the same bad attitude that that other guy last year had that is detrimental to a team, so it is a work in progress. In the meantime, Romo can keep throwing to Austin and Witten.

romo never seemed to throw to him till lately, or well, it just seemed he never got the ball at all, now he drops it when he does.

and as I recall they were getting some chemistry till romo laid roy out and he got his ribs hurts.

Not true.

Replays shown on this board showed that Roy Williams was interfered with and "bumped" off us his route.

Tony Romo put that ball where it was suppose to be.

You know who I'm starting to really hate? Besides several people on the coaching staff. Roy Williams.

While Safety Roy Williams sucked, I never hated him. At least he gave effort in his suckiness. I'm beginning to have an extreme hate building up in me for this piece of **** WR Roy Williams. The Cowboys need to put his *** on notice. ****ing bench him for a game.

:bang2: :yousuck:

This is squarely on Jerry and the coaching staff but I personally believe it's more on Jerry because I don't think he allows the coaches to sit his butt.

Whomever evaluated this guy, agreed to trade a 1 & a 3 and then pay him 9 million a year is to blame here, I don't see how we can fault Roy for taking the money and he had no control over the trade.

Since Jerry continually says he is responsible for all decisions, then I put the blame squarely in his sorry butt

And what issue would that be? Aside from the fact the guy drops a ball each and every game? Romo is pro QB, who has 0 problems with the other guys on the team he has to throw to, why would he have an issue with Williams?

Roy has dropped some dead on passes, that blatantly hit him in the hands. The problem is Roy, not Romo. Personally I hope he clears it up, because I don't hate him, but facts are facts: for the Dallas Cowboys Roy Williams has been lousy.

His season has been a disappointment in general and the untimely drop here and there sticks out, but he does have 7 tds and has a first down on 76% of his receptions. He also ranks nowhere near the top of the league in times targeted, so he isnt killing the offense. (The league leaders are Andre Johnson at 161 and Wes Welker at 160, RW conversely has only 87 which ranks him in a tie for 48th)

Roy doesn't seem to have confidence in himself right now. He put a lot of pressure on himself and now he is struggling to live up to it. He needs to get out of his own way and just play ball. Until he does that and start catching some balls I can't fault Romo for not looking for him too much during games. There is just way to much on the line for the entire team.

Its a shame really, he used to have one of the best hand i've seen on a WR. I haven't given up on him yet but there aren't that many games left and the games left we can't afford to lose.

Guys, he and Tony just need more time together! You can't expect them to be on the same page yet! Give it four seasons and Roy Williams will be a machine!

Still a better option than predecessor. He hasn't ruined team chemistry or talk of clubhouse cancer etc....

You are right; he has been 'a team player' lately in attitude, although he didn't start out that way. That's one good reason to be careful about the way Williams is handled. Too harsh a correction could restart that bad reaction. It is similar to the situation with Barber. Choice is a better back but Barber is paid too much to sit him as a starter without causing unwanted repercussions. The best way with Williams is to find some face saving way to minimize the damage without creating a T.O. situation......

It's all on Roy - the evidence is right in front of you every Sunday.

He is one of the least productive starting WR's in the NFL. He might very well cost us a chance to progress in the playoffs - we are basically down to one receiver in our normal formations when he is on the field. He should be on the field during 3 receiver sets or running plays only - Jerry will cost us a playoff win if he insists that this laughing clown foot gets #1 receiver level of snaps going forward.

We scored two touchdowns last night in a very important game and Roy had one of them.

He is part of the team that will be on the field against the Eagles who we may need to beat two weeks in a row.

Might as well support Roy now and save the boos for the off-season. One or more of his TD catches may very well be what gets us to the Super Bowl.

Roys biggest problem for me is that the 1st round pick we gave up could have given us Oher and if there is an area this team is really struggling it is oline. Even though romo has serious moxie magic, one time he will get hit hard and not get up - if that happens we are done ...

He's got #1 receiver level snaps, and he is one of the least productive receivers per snap in the NFL. He is hurting the team, a normal receiver would present Tony with better options to keep drives going than Roy who is basically a non factor outside the goal lines. He's not targeted becuase he is awful.

He is a good option in the Redzone and should be used on those plays where his size offers him an advantage, but he shouldn't start.

I'm off the Roy Williams bandwagon... Everytime I think he's going to have a break out game it's another lackluster showing.

That's the thing - I don't think RW is trying hard. I bet he isn't out there late at night running route after route, catching a hundred plus balls.

I imagine him standing in front of a mirror wearing his UT uniform practicing his first down move over and over. 250 reps a night just so that he can whip it out every other game.
