See, I told you that folks would be calling for Lance because they think he’s better than Dak. Just wait until the first bad series.
you mean the way this fanbase ran of Mike white and DeNucci but then wanted them back then realized they still are just that , now it will be Grier they wil be upset he was cut but then see 2 good games drool complain then the next six show they are who we thought they were !!??

They called all these guys trash and they shouldn't even be playing in the NFL..same with kickers like nick folk, some LBsers , that's what you call a fickle fan base. first, they overrate the guy then they want him banished and then they want him back. ie 6 stages of grief LOL

what does fanbase really means is a couple six win seasons back to back to back.. with a truly bad quarterback and coaches, they'll wish they had prescott and this team back... they forgot what bad football really looks like

the way judge this team is ridiculous..

you don't remember last year when mike white went on a little run?? how this place blasted jerry for letting him go?? then after they saw what ben did in that little league, they want him back too.. I mean you have to remember all the responses?? This is what goes on here on a daily basis the questioning of the front office.. They're hypocrites they want these guys gone then they want them back.. Or they don't want them at first then they play well and act like they were on board from the beginning..

You know guys like Terrence Steele and Doug free etc

Where are you getting your information? I can't believe that MM didn't have a say in this decision, After all, he is the head coach. I can see Greer getting the axe but Lance is going to be the #3 qb. Unless everyone else is injured, he won't see the field. SF didn't need him any more. They cut bait and moved on. That's how I see it. jmho

few other sites reported similarly. there was a couple of threads on this on the forum.

If you listed out 20 things for Dak vs Lance, there would probably be atleast 16 or more that Dak does better. So it seems crazy some would try to make a QB controversy.

What could Lance do better?

-Run faster?
-Throw the ball further?

Neither really definitively means better results on the field. The Cowboys are taking a low risk shot at developing Lance because he's a young, talented, but unpolished QB.. The Cowboys have said many times they're committed to Dak so unless Lance is needed on gameday and starts playing amazing there's virtually no reason to think he will be QB1 here.
So can Micah

Your eyes are kind of broke.. But that's OK the NFL makes this mistake all the time look at all those quarterbacks taking number one overall like Ryan Leaf in that Raiders quarterback and Trey Lance..

There are so many bad NFL i's with the way they look at how they play in college or what they've seen on tape in very limited accident and then somehow come on here and take a seven-year veteran and try to tell us what you think he might be able to do better.. When live bullets are flying in real games with game plans that's how you judge talent and right now Trey Lance is not even a Nat buzzing around Prescott 's ear.. He's irrelevant he's a project that's it a future project.. The best I see Trey Lance could ever be is kyler Murray.. Who also is overpaid and overrated but they have a similar game.. So yeah with work in a few years with some really good coaching he might be kyler Murray.. Kyler Murray is not better than Prescott except for running around in trying to make plays off schedule much like Johnny Football.. You see guys like that now have long careers Prescott's already proven over the last seven years that he could be part of #1 offenses and win games he's never been part of a losing season...

When healthy Prescott's never been part of a losing season he's top five in wins he has a great touchdown interception ratio.. All he has left to do now is try to breakthrough in the playoffs and this is a team game and that's what we're waiting on.. We're waiting for the team to show up you know have a strong run game and an offensive line against teams like the 49ers and the Rams who have better defensive lines in front sevens than most.. If the offensive line in the run game shows up with the defense you know the team like the 90s did when Rogers teams did Prescott will win in the playoffs.. If you're asking Prescott to win by himself on offense to carry the team that's ridiculous that's the problem here.. That's why Peyton Manning started off his playoff record at three and six before he broke through which was around year 8..

I'm not calling for Lance at all and that wasn't the reason for my post. I simply did some film study and saw some things I liked about his game .. The things I happened to like are some of the things I thin Dak could improve on. I do think that he can be groomed to take over in a few years by big mike.

Funny to watch these Dak over Dallas fanatics blast the OP for his thread when he specifically said he is a fan of Dak, doesn't think Lance will take over for Dak, and was just pointing out some positive traits that Lance possesses.......but of course the Rock's and AC's of the group read what they want and automatically say the OP isn't a Cowboys fan.
This is a microcosm of the nation: think what they think or you are open for being attacked. Well, many are growing tired of it and will not go without a fight.
Thanks for sticking up for me.. it's true many on here know I'm a dak fan so the attacks were very unwarranted but thar is okay... I simply was interested in diving deep into some positives when it came to trey. I honestly liked his instincts and ability to step up in pocket amd make plays I haven't seen dak make.

If anyone doubts my love for dak dive into my past post. I haven posted very much over the last year and a half because my father passed away and I went through a long divorce.

If you have time to investigate my past post you will see I'm one of Daks biggest fans. I have lost a little love for him after last season but I still belive.
Why after last season?

Another 12-5 campaign and won a playoff game beating the goat in bold fashion.

It was the teams most successful season in years.

The only one deflecting is AC but if it makes you feel better to come to the needs of a damsel in distress then have at it.
No one asked for my help, I'm letting you know that you are deflecting. You get especially whiny when Dallas Cowboy fans cheer their QB. You're all in on any anti-Dak hype. Waaaaa.

It won’t.

Not a single player on that team is going to be clamoring for a third string QB to supplant the well respected leader they’ve been following for the past 7 years.

You’re worrying something that hasn’t even happened and likely never will.
Never said the players would be clamoring for Lance, but you, and others of your ill, will be after the first 3 and out. Hell, it’s already started.

Was just timing to me, offense was completely horrible in the opening bucs game. Next few games it wasnt high octane but it was moving at least.
Psure if cooper rush took over in 2020 wed be singing a different tune. (The high powered offense with historically bad defense)

I'm like you, I've always loved Dak and been very optimistic, but over the years I've started to wonder honestly about his mental makeup in terms of how he processes pressure when things aren't going well. I agree that the team and coaching have let him down at times but I have expected to see more out of him when other things weren't going well, especially last year against the niners.. This isn't just based on the niners game, this is something that has culminated over the last few years. I keep giving him the benefit of the doubt but I'm getting close to wondering if his ability to process turmoil is effecting his ability to be at his best when we need him most.

Trust me, I have been in his corner and still am, but I am worried about his blank stares on the sideline when things are awry. Either way, I'm not advocating Trey Lance over Dak, but when I objectively watched his film I came away from it with some appreciation for some of the things he insticively did.. I meant what I said in my original post about Dak's inability to step up in pocket instictively when it matters.. This is a HUGE part of a Qb's game and can really yeild positive results.. Too many times I see Dak hanging back there and scrambling too late when he could of stepped up and made a play... This was my biggest take away..

the bucs game was a shiet show. I blame the entire offense for that, including Dak. we looked unprepared. and I was upset that the bucs defenders were saying we knew their plays.

I would expect the offense to ahve been much better in those games as well. in the Rams game the offnese wasn't any good. in the eagles game the offense was stuck in mud. and once Dak returned the offensive performance improved greatly. so it stands to reason that we would have seen improved offense regardless and probably better with Dak than Rush. one game does not set a trend.

My only hope for Trey is that he can take Rush's job because the NFL figured out Rush over his last stretch and he is going to be limited in effectiveness going forward I think if we don't have an impactful run game
