You know the itch. We've all got it. The desire to open presents as soon as you know they are yours. That is the Draft. They torture us with it for four months and as it nears it overwhelms our patience.

That's where I am.

I think we're staying at #9.

#9. Tyron Smith, OT, USC, 6'5", 307. I saw the report that compared him to Walter Jones. I honestly think he is more like Erik Williams. Yes, I went there. Will solidify the right side of our OL for 10 or more years with multiple Pro Bowls possible if he reaches his immense potential.

We're going to trade out of the #40 spot for a late 2nd and a 3rd. For the purpose of this Mock it is with the Chiefs for #55 and #86.

#55. Mason Foster, ILB, Washington, 6'1", 245.
A heat seeking missile who can team with Sean Lee for years to be defensive forces. Smart guy who lives to play football. Non stop motor. If you read my post earlier today you know this means Sensy to a long term deal and Huff in FA are our Safety tandem.

#71. Will Rackley, OG, Lehigh, 6'3", 310. Groomed to take over either starting OG spot. Is going to be a force in the NFL due to his power blocking skills.

#86. Kenrick Ellis, NT, Hampton, 6'5", 345. A wall who collapses the pocket. Ratliff will be moved to DE for some plays, but only after either Ellis or Brent take the NT spot for good.

#110. John Moffitt, OG, Wisconsin, 6'4", 315. Takes whichever spot opposite Rackley when the time comes. They are bookend Guards who are run blocking strong.

#143. Cecil Shorts, WR, Mount Union, 6'0" 190.
He is a weapon. No matter where they line him up he will produce eventually. He can play emergency QB, RB, is a natural slot WR and can play in both return games. Has scored TDs from every one of these positions and has a nose for the endzone.

#176. DeMarcus Van Dyke, CB, Miami, 6'1", 176.
CB depth in the current NFL is much needed and his work in DB drills leads to believe he can develop into something workable for a team.

#220. Greg McElroy, QB, Alabama, 6'2", 225. A developmental guy with top football smarts. A future NFL scout or coach possibly. A solid backup.

#252. Collin Baxter, C, Arizona, 6'3", 311. Could battle Costa for the job once Gurode is finished.

I like it all except for the last pick, i would rather go after cb from wagner that blocked 12 kicks, or blaine summer super strong NT, or DE KEITH DARBUT, BALDWIN-WALLACE
Darbut wasn’t a known commodity until he ran a 4.38 40 at his pro day. At 6’4, 230 pounds he is light for a linebacker and he is raw and hasn’t faced top level competition so there should be concerns but his 1.42 10-yard, 38-inch vertical, and 4.38 40 show his explosiveness making him a player with upside worth taking a gamble on late in the draft and hiding on a practice squad.

other than that, love the picks:bow: and im waiting on Sdogo's report and silverbears players list cowboys have visited before i post my final mock or one before final mock,

silverbear is killing me; said he would have it earlier this week, anxious to get my last or next to last mocks out and get pictures of my war room up

Love it. I would like to see RB Stevan Ridley as one of our 7th round picks. Other than that, it's perfect.

I like it a lot.

I'm with you on Foster, would be a great pick imo. I had him in my only mock.

I would probably swap out Mason Foster for either Cameron Heyward (at #40) or Christian Ballard/Allen Bailey at #55

I don't think I could like a mock any more than that one.

best mock
addresses OL, front 7
couple this with signing Huff

we are on our way

this is the best mock I have seen including from the so called experts. I would absolutely love this draft.

Mason Foster is a poor athlete. He had some of the worst numbers overall at the combine:

21" vertical*
9'.2" broad jump*
4.75 forty*
12.26 second 60-yard shuttle*

*worst of all players at same position at the combine
*tied for 2nd worst of all players...
*tied for 4th worst...

I'm not a combine workout #'s guy, but those are really poor.

Please commence with the "I don't care about #'s, he's a football player!!!!" rant in 3...2...1

Does this mark the end of the FB love?

I would like to trade down in the 5th and add a 6th and 7th, then trade down in the 6th and add a 7th. I would like to use the final three 7th round picks on OG/OT Darius Morris (Kyle Hix if Morris is gone), FS Mark LeGree, FS Frantz Placide

Dont like the Foster pick at all. ILB is a need for the future, but I wouldnt take 1 in the 2nd round. Especially 1 that isnt head and shoulders above others that will be available in later rounds. Sheppard, Irving, Jones, and Matthews are all comparable to Foster in my opinion. Ill admit that 55 is a hard spot to make a pick because its tough to tell whos going to be there, but ILB still shouldnt be the pick.

I think House or Moore will be available for the secondary. And Ballard or Bailey for the D line. All better prospects in my opinion and of much higher need for our team.

Looks great except for this one. Dude is projected for the 4th or 5th round and doesn't have NFL speed. Looks like Tony Dixon all over again to me, i.e. a reach for a guy who isn't NFL material.

I'll pass thanks.
