- Well, we wanted a decisive victory today going into Philly next week and we got it. Beat them on all sides of the ball in penalties and turnovers as well.
- While I gave him mild praise last week, Roy Williams was really bad today. I'll have to watch it over again, but it looked like every time he and Romo were out of sync, Romo made the right read and adjustment and Roy did not.
- Last week I got some flak for not mentioning Romo's play in my meaningless thoughts post, so here goes. He was pretty good, but not great today. But what I really liked about his play is that he had a rough start missing receivers high and then adjusted and started making accurate throws. There's no doubt in my mind that his high throws are a somewhat simple mechanical issue that he needs to keep in mind throughout the game and can be adjusted. Obviously, I didn't like the fumble, but he did keep both hands on the ball until he went to throw it. Even still, I think that's a good thing in the sense it gives Romo a little reminder of protecting the ball coming into Philly next week.
- Oh, Mr. Blue Suit...where are you? Where are you when Miles plays another good game again? Surely this couldn't be possible because he was playing the wrong starting WR spot according to you. But, you did have 'sources.'
- BUEHLER!
- Stephen Bowen is just about everything we thought Jason Hatcher would be.
- Victor Butler was fantastic on kickoff coverage today.
- I thought when the O-Line jumped twice in a row and the penalties were offsides on the Seahawks, I almost started stockpiling canned goods and H2O. Sign of the apocalypse.
- 1 interception in the last 29 games from our combined safety corp.
- Hey, 10 punts today and none of them hit the videoboard. That makes 0 for 38 punts this regular season. Way to pick your battles, Mr. Fisher. Enjoy your victory today, you ain't likely to many more this year. Even better, you're likely to have more victories than punts that will hit the videoboard this year.
- The big concern I have going into Philly and being a month away from December is that the running game has stalled a bit the last two games and Garrett has basically avoided running Choice all together in those games. Plus, Garrett will run some gadget running plays, but he seems to do them in bunches instead of spreading them out and often at quirky times. Plus, this team has struggled with shooting themselves in the foot on offense once they cross mid-field. That's pretty much happened on the road this year and something tells me that they'll forget to focus on it this week in practice. So you come into Philly where you are now relying on the pass to move the ball, when it's loud, your WR and QB are not on the same page and if you start moving the ball, you can shoot yourself in the foot with penalties.
- Statistically this team is starting to take form. +6.9 QBRD (QB Rating Differential), -1 on turnover margin and we are projecting to have 39 sacks this year. If we can steadily climb on the QBRD, get a positive turnover margin and get above 40 sacks (along with our special teams play), that's almost guaranteed to make the playoffs.
- Speaking of special teams, I'll be interested where we stand next week with the Football Outsiders Special Teams Ranking. Last week Dallas ranked 6th statistically and with another solid effort by the special teams and a Crayton punt return TD, I'm guessing we should only get better.
- By the flight of the ball, it looked like Folk's missed kick was another bad hold by McBriar. Could be wrong, but it would be nice to find out.
- Well, definitely a must win game. But the next 4 weeks are huge, not only from a win-loss standpoint, but we'll get to see how tough this team is. There's no doubt in my mind that if this team plays pretty well overall and doesn't make bonehead mistakes, they can pretty much dominate 90% of the teams in the league. But we've got the ultimate regular season test next week going into Philly and then we go into Lambeau the following week. I'm afraid to see us lose either game on bonehead mistakes. Hopefully the game against the G-Men will cause the Eagles to lose some of their steam and the World Series to cool off the Eagles fanbase a little. If anything, I think the main key is to not allow DeSean Jackson to beat us and to protect the ball. I think if they can do that, the Cowboys chances of winning are quite good.
